Let me give you guys a little context

Im a die hard 76ers fan, I love my team, and I trust the process

All that being said, I love Joel Embiid and believe when healthy, he’s a Top 10 player and can dominate on both ends of the floor

My biggest concern, his health and consistency

So…I’m very open to trading Joel in the right situation, I want to build around Ben Simmons and Tobias Harris, I can start them at both F spots if I find players that fit in with Ben’s passing and timeline, Harris is very versatile and can be the 3rd option on a Championship Team

After watching these playoffs, I’m keying in on a few players as possible Trade Targets in a package that pairs up Joel and a Western Conference All Star

Id like to here what trade packages you’d want/expect back for Joel Embiid?

I dont think they should trade anyone, but if they had to trade one of the two I would trade Simmons. I think his lack of shooting is more of a concern than Embiids health. In the playoffs Simmons offense has been a liability. He has an anti-Steph gravity that hurts Embiid’s game, as he has less room to operate in the paint and often is on the perimeter a lot to help with spacing. Embiid’s health is a concern, but I believe he has a higher ceiling and will very likely be in MVP conversations starting next year and every healthy year of his prime.

If I were the 76ers I would bring back Jimmy and Tobias, move JJ to the bench and bring in a stretch 4 and a mobile backup 5 and run it back.

Big time mistake in my opinion, but I’d go for a big return – eg. AD

Embiid’s perfect pairing would be with a scoring combo gaurd like Mccollum, Lilliard, Murray, Curry, Harden etc. Someone that can handle the rock, create scoring for himself and others. With that being said I really cant say I saw anything wrong with the way Ben Simmons and Embiid played on the court together.

I would continue to be patient. They took Toronto to 7 games in just their 2nd playoff appearance. Harris was a nonfactor in the series. Embiid was getting triple teamed lol and from game 3 on was making great decisions. Simmons was like their Draymond Green lite.

I understand the point your making. Its either one or the other. If you have Simmons running the offence it negates Embiid’s strengths and vice versa. Its easy to group up on Embiid and force him to kick the ball out and even easier when Simmons is on the court. However I think the 76ers need to find a balance within the offence where they are able to mix it up and not be so narrow minded or premeditated with how they are going to run the halfcourt offence. It doesnt have to run through one guy all game.

When it was Joel time you knew it was Joel time, when it was Jimmy time you knew it was Jimmy time, same with JJ and Ben. When you have that many weapons I dont think you just play off of one guy all the time.

Simmons actually blended in very well and was consistently a positive impact throughout the series. He took a backseat offensively but Im pretty sure that was the gameplan. They werent running the offense through him but they played great whenever they did which was only for 3-6 minute stretches maybe 3 or 4 times in the series.

I do t think the 76’s need to make any trades, they were very very close to playing Milwaukee right now. Why trade away a huge piece of your core? On paper they have a top 3-5 team, I say keep the core and go for the gold again next year.

I agree. They could be the best team in the East next year if they take care of buisness this offseason. Kawhi could leave Toronto, Milwaukee has some question marks. Embiid just has to get on some sort of diet.

Build around Ben Simmons and Tobias Harris? You my friend, think outside the box.

I guess if the Pelicans offered AD for Embiid, and AD wanted to sign long-term with the Sixers, Philly would have to think about it. I’d say AD is, by a very slim margin, the better player, and seems to be more durable.

But you’d also have to consider chemistry. Philly had a very successful season. Their best players are 22 and 24. In the end, I don’t think I’d do it.
