ZouldiersParticipantHawks traded the 44th pick to Miami for a conditional 2024 pick and cash. Miami must really like someone in the 2nd round to do this trade and this is the first time since 2015 Miami is picking in the 2nd round. Love this trade.

Sewok15ParticipantThere are a lot of players to like in this 2nd round. Really if you look from 20-45 you have a bunch of closely ranked prospects that could possibly help your team. The problem is nobody has any idea how it will shake out until draft night.
My guess is they have some international guy they want that they are pretty sure will be there at 44.

220ParticipantWhile it’s possible that Miami could be after an international player, I largely doubt it. Pat Riley largely avoids International players to a truly surprising amount. He has had a few over the years including Goran Dragic currently, but Riley really tends to avoid International guys. It may be because the Heat teams are completely built around defense and they tend to avoid guys who refuse to perform on that end of the court. I wouldn’t be surprised to see Miami after Grant Williams or Admiral Schofield from Tenesseee as they are Heat kind of players that the Heat have succeeded with in the past.

ZouldiersParticipantI have them drafting Admiral Schofield with the 44th pick. More aggresive than Grant Williams TBH

Sewok15ParticipantDouble Post.
If they take Doumbouya with their first pick perhaps it would make sense to invest in another international player. Spurs style.

CoachWyersParticipantI think they are targeting Dewan Hernandez the local college guy. I know they have worked him out.

OhCanada-ParticipantIs Dewan Hernandez Dewan Huell? I thought he got arrested and kicked out of Miami.

royk927ParticipantIf Miami moves a contract with the 13th pick. They are in cap he’ll like a lot of teams and we all know Riley isn’t patient.

HitsterParticipantMiami have been quiet for a few years and Pat Riley probably wants to try and make some moves to give Erik Spoelstra a competitive team again. When they next get cap space the Heat will be a location a lot of players will look at with it’s good FO and coaching staff, nice weather and taxes.
Riley also is 74 years old now so may fancy one more run at putting a contending team together.
