    Monroe is a very good player with a chance of becoming a star. Pistons might be another high lottery pick ( and a good free agent) away from being a perennial playoff team in the east.

     Pistons don’t need another high lottery pick to be a perennial playoff team, they need better role players and for their young core to mature. Knight, Monroe and Drummond is easily a good enough core to make playoffs consistently if they all reach their potential.

    Obviously I won’t address this nonsense about Monroe being the best player in the NBA.

    The Blazers open the regular season on Halloween night at home against the Los Angeles Lakers.

    Oh, and as for that new locker room, the Blazers unveiled it before the Nuggets game on Wednesday night. It includes a hydrotherapy room and a smoothie bar.
