Wavy BagelsParticipantAnyone else copped/heard the new Kendrick Lamar album yet? It’s pretty dope.

Mr. 19134ParticipantYes it’s very good. I love K.Dot’s style it’s very reminscent of Bone Thugs mixed with 90’s era Cali funk.
But it doesn’t match the intensity and hunger of Meeks Dreams and Nightmares debut. That’s a must have for any hip hop head.

Wavy BagelsParticipantI’m not much of a Meek listener, but I know that album is highly anticipated folloinw that Dreamchasers 2 mixtape.

Mr. 19134ParticipantI’m not a big MMG fan, most of their stuff is redundent and mindless. But growing up in Philly everybody here has known about Meek Millz for probably about a decade now. He went from mythical teenage battlerapper, to youtube sensation, to breaking Philly mixtape records for sales, then he went to jail and everybody thought he was gonna be another waste of talent. But he kept his head on and he finally got an actual studio album out in stores and it’s easily his most refined work.
From intro to outro Dreams and Nightmares captures his hunger during his ascent to fame while contemplating on where he came from and what he had to do to get here. You can here it all on just the intro which is epic

Wavy BagelsParticipantI like the intro. The first beat is “dreamy”, while the flip to the second takes you into a dark realm; that of a nightmare. Similar to how DMX approached “Stop Being Greedy”. My only problem with Meek is that he lacks substance at times. I know he has great potential as an artist, I just wish he displays it more.

goneParticipantI know you are being a semi homer but be forreal Meek’s album is subpar at best. GKMC is a concept album and every track connects to each other. There may not be any radio/club songs but it is story telling and lyrics mixed with grimy west coast beats at its finest. Not to mention he carries the entire album alone with the exception of a few features.

Wavy BagelsParticipantYea Wiz. The storytelling on the album is serious. He never returns that van lol. Also, I got flashbaks of Andre 3000 during the ATLiens/Aquemini era as I listened to it. From both the flow and the beat selection.
