seriously guys, Points don’t matter. I don’t judge a person’s degree of Basketball-knowledge by points, that’s stupid. If 15 year old kids want to treat this forum like Xbox live and want to unlock “highest point total” achievements, let them. Hardcore basketball fans like yours truly will not give them whatever respect they think they deserve. Even though QHaynes has negative points, I still regard him as a top 10 poster (in terms of knowledgeableness ) on this site, even though I ripped into him a few months back about trading some draft picks. Look, I know it feels good to have others look at your points and automatically think you have inside sources, but it’s much more satisfying to garner respect through the quality of your posts.
From now on, I will erase posts where the topic is purely based upon someone griping about points. Thanks for your cooperation.

MagikKnickParticipantLOL, these mods are tight….hop off
We all know that points dont matter, i think were all smart enough to realize that…
its just ironic how one of the most respected guys on this site, with a high b-ball IQ, has such low points0 -

ok… Some people just gave MagikKnick 2 negative points for the above comment. There are definitely come negative nancies on this site. I see nothing wrong with the comment. I wish MODS can overturn points, that’ll make the points system much more fair.

or show the screen names of those who gave negatives

SpencerIsHawesome2Participant“No it wasn’t…he was speaking the truth. Why do you think alot of white players aren’t drafted high or at all?
Athleticism, toughness, potential”
That looks more like your opinion rather than what you heard

Posted on: Wed, 09/02/2009 - 6:46pm #209443

llperez
I can understand the athleticism part. But toughness is just a joke. There are some weak players of every color. Go tell Harpring, Pryzbilla, Brockman, Hinrich, Gortat, etc they are not tough. White guys don’t normally get drafted high because there are not as many good ones, period. I don’t think toughness has any thing to do with it.

Budinger was not tough. But neither was Jonathen Bender. I didn’t read the other thread, but you can’t just say white guys are not tough because of a few examples. You can hate on indivdual white players toughness, but to lump them all together is just inaccurate.

Because as the game has evolved, athleticism has taken a premium. There used to be big white dudes on every team that could rebound set screens and thats about it. But they have been faded out over the decades because now you have to have some more skills if you want to last in the league. It has more to do with athleiticism then toughness. Guys like Laimbeer, Rambis, Eaton, Konacak, they would have trouble playing in todays game, but it wasn’t because of toughness. Shaq called Scott Skiles one of the toughest dudes he had ever met and said that Scott punched him one time in the mouth during a fight at practice. Do you think your boy Kenny Andersen would be punching Shaq?

Posted on: Thu, 09/03/2009 - 9:54am #209612

SpencerIsHawesome2ParticipantI’m a little more republican than democrat i guess, I dont mind her too much. Shed be better than Hilary, at least. She’s against same-sex marriage, she’s for resource exploration in alaska, and is against obama’s healthcare plan.. I agree with her on those things.. But she’s pro-life and I’m pro-choice and it would be hard for me to vote for someone who is as religious as she says she is.

Posted on: Thu, 09/03/2009 - 10:43am #209624
who.am.i.nbadraftdotnetParticipantSpencer,
Sarah Palin has absolutely zero experience in washington… she quit her only real position in alaska… and how can you be against same-sex marriage~ do you not know any gay people? even if you think you don’t know gay people, you do, and i think it’s ridiculous that someone’s life partner isn’t allowed to be by their hospital bed in their dying moments because haters like yourself are too afraid to accept people for who they are.
0 -
Posted on: Thu, 09/03/2009 - 11:00am #209628

SpencerIsHawesome2ParticipantI know a lot of gay people. I have gay friends. I just think marriage should be between a man and a woman. I don’t have a very strong opinion on it, if gay marriage is allowed throughout the country I’m not going to be angry about it– just of the opinion that it should be man and woman. A co-worker of mine who is gay recently got married, I supported him and congratulated him. I don’t agree with it but I’m not “hating”(again with that annoying word) on it.

Posted on: Thu, 09/03/2009 - 11:05am #209630
who.am.i.nbadraftdotnetParticipanthow would you feel if your friends weren’t allowed to say bye to their life partner because they weren’t technically married? how would you feel if they died by themselves all lonely, just cuz they’re gay and didn’t get married to a woman (or man if they are lesbian)?
if you can honestly say they shouldn’t be allowed to do that, than you aren’t being a very good friend to them. and promoting the repression of their rights is…… just as bad. what kind of friend does that make u?
0 -
Posted on: Thu, 09/03/2009 - 1:43pm #209664

GoodbyeChandlerParticipantcan give me a good reason other than ” i believe marrige should be between a man and a woman”. i am a heterosexual male and personally i dont care if gay ppl get married, but even i know that reason is a load of crap. just because its against your religion doesnt mean you should apply that belief to the lifestyles of others. besides, its gonna happen, just like the end of slavery, just like suffrage. it all depends on when.
