portland did this to get a future 1st round pick and get cap floor .They will probably waive the wild thing or maybe if they are making a playoff push they will keep him around for help in the playoffs. when healthy which seems like never over the past few seasons he is very underated as a rebounder and a distributer(was a pg before nba and growth spurt). regardless, cavs win in this deal as frye did not have the likes of james and irving to open up the perimeter and frye adds that shooting they needed to make teams honor him there and clear space in the lane as well.
on a lesser note i have no idea why orlando did this for a 2nd rounder from clevland via portland other than to clear cap. granted cunningham is an extremely athletic guard who defends well, his handle is still average at best at the nba level, if it were me i would have moved sasha kaun as well
