Honestly, what’s the best deal you guys think Orlando can get for Howard now? No where close to full value. The best thing they had was the Nets deal for Lopez, which Im hoping they would also require the Nets’ 1st rounder this year unprotected along with Brooks. But with Brooks injury we’ll see what happens there. Other than that, what do you guys expect for him?

Thunder sends Harden/Perkins/Ibaka/Maynor to Orlando for Howard.

A future star in Harden, Bigs in Perkin/Ibaka and at the least a future 6th man in Maynor. Im sure theyll want more of a star or great picks, but I dont see it happening. Not asking if y’all think itll happen, but if you’re Orlando, would you take this? If not, what would you do with Howard? If your OKC, would you take this? The salaries will work.

Big plus, offer Westbrook for Dwill and there goes your big 3.

Do you honestly think OKC is going to chuck out Harden, and both Perkins and Ibaka? They lose so much offense in this it makes them a worse team. Nick Collison isn’t starting material, wheres the backup 2 man for Sefolosha? Superb trade for the Magic, though i don’t think they would want to take onboard Perkins lengthy contract. But there is no way OKC agrees to this.

The Toronto Raptors boast a lot of continuity as head coach Dwane Casey has eight rotation players returning from last season, but he also has seven new players on guaranteed contracts in training camp. Casey has repeatedly stated that starting jobs and minutes are up for grabs.

The battle lines for playing time have been drawn in Toronto and there will be no free rides for young, developing players this time around. What the Raptors lineup will look like by opening night is already starting to take shape.

“Terrence, we will see how it goes,” Casey said. “I have to see Terrence in training camp. On individual work, he has done an excellent job. Competing against DeMar, he has made DeMar’s job hard which is good, but we’ll see who comes out in that battle. If he is not in the rotation, he will get a lot of one-on-one work to develop.

“There are going to be nights when one guy is more important than the other,” Casey said. “One night we might need a little more speed running the floor, the other night we may need shooting. Like I said, there is not a lot difference between eight, nine and ten. It is pretty even, so there is going to be competition between those two young men on a given night. I don’t think we would be wrong by playing either one as they are equal.

“We will have a good idea after this week,” Casey said. “We have a good feel for what we want to do, nothing in concrete, but it will probably take half of the preseason to really get that concrete first team, second team.

The Clippers have a very deep roster of players. Scoring should not be an issue this season. The bigger question, can they pass muster as a united defensive squad?

The immediate takeaway is that the Clippers are are deep. The chemistry is coming along quickly. This is a team that believes they’re a contender this year.
