Nice pickup for the Jazz. Both in 2014 draft, Exum was taken 5th and Clarkson was taken 46th overall. Funny how things work out…

Jordan Clarkson has been traded to the Jazz in exchange for Dante Exum and two future second round picks, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.

Clarkson has been one of the NBA’s most productive bench scorers, posting averages of 14.6 points, 2.4 rebounds, 2.4 assists, 0.6 steals and 2.0 three-pointers per game with shooting splits of 44.2 percent from the field, 37.1 percent from three and 88.4 percent from the foul line. His arrival will give Utah another bench scorer and ball-handler as the team looks to contend in the West. And with Mike Conley (hamstring) out, the Jazz were in need of a guard who can give the offense a boost with Joe Ingles back in the starting lineup.

it must sucks to be traded during the middle of a game…exum and the jazz r in miami 2night and he was seen exiting (no pun intended) miami arena….a change f scenery might do him some good…clarkson is in the last year of his deal..and has improved his 3 pt shooting….he has been a little more consistent this year than seasons past…..

Exum was in contention for the #1 pick back then. I didn’t see much athleticism or feel for the game. Still don’t think he’ll ever be more than a role player at best, unless he finds himself in lucky enough circumstances.

The jazz have said they intend to keep Clarkson beyond a 1 year rental. If so, I think it’s good trade for both sides. I’ve always kinda admired Clarkson’s attitude, and his game reminds me of Mike Bibby. Hopefully he gets more opportunity.

From what i remember he was “the international mystery man” most of us had him predicted to go 6-10 range, utah selected him a little earlier.
Most of us in the know had Wiggins, parker, embiid and julius randle to be the top 4

As a Jazz fan, I really like this for the us. Our bench has been absolutely garbage so far. He should really help even though I do not like Jordan Clarkson that much but he does have good attitude. As for Exum, I was a big Exum fan and believer until last year. He was just too injured. 🙁 He just goes into the category of busts because of injuries. Otherwise I am still pretty confident that he at worst, would have been a really good defender and a good finisher on fast breaks. If the Jazz dont keep Clarkson, ah well, they got off that big Exum contract for (probably) an early to mid second (spurs) and a future second (GSW).
