Whos the Defensive Player of the Year? To me its between Turner and Gobert but I would give it to Turner personally.

Drummond should probably be in the top two with Gobert. Drummond averaged nearly 2 blocks and lead the league in rebounds again. Myles Turner rebounded less than JaValle McGee in over 8 more minutes per game and averaged less than a block more per game (both averaged at least 2 per game)

  It’s not just Turner’s blocks though. I’m almost sure he leads the league in opponent’s FG% at the rim.

  Not sure about the advanced analytics on my two guys but I know Indiana and Utah have the two best defense’s in the league and both guys are their teams anchors.

I’d give it to Myles Turner, but I am a little bias. Still he lead the league in blocked shots & they were the 3rd best defensive team in the league which he was undoubtedly the anchor for – Bogdanovic & DC try hard but aren’t great perimeter defenders by any means.

In saying all that, if Paul George got the award it wouldn’t surprise me in the slightest. Gobert is a beast but I think Turner had to do more given Indiana doesn’t have the team defenders that he did in Utah (Rubio, Ingles, Favors & Mitchell are all very nice defensive guys)

I got Giannis winning MVP he doesn’t need both awards….

No one has mentioned Jrue Holiday. He was lockdown all year and was one of the best perimeter defenders statistically this year. If not Jrue, I vote Giannis or Paul George. Its between those 3 to be honest.

Everyone looking at stats and trying to judge whos DPOY. What a joke. Embiid’s defense was more impactful at moments I watched than anyone else. Stats.. LMFAO.
