 The top of this draft (top 3) feels different than 2011, with three prospects that are very much legit top talents, however, the rest feels a lot like 2011.  

First: Darious Garland is the Kyrie of the draft.

Second:  I feel like wing depth and potential is being vastly overlooked. Whether or not these players will reach their potential is certainly a question but:

There are a number of  prospects that seem to have a chance to out perform their current billing.  Such as:  (With some comps in their draft-day form not today.) 

 

 

Bol Bol (not a wing, but very similar to Porziggy)

Hunter  (Jimmy Butler)

Culver

Reddish (Paul George)

Sekou (Pascal Siakam)

Little

Langford

Thybulle 

Okpala

Cameron Johnson

Keldon johnson

Schofield (Jae Crowder)

 

I feel like all of these guys have a real shot at being starter quality Some much more.  I know they won’t all pan out, but it just feels like a solid group with a good mix of potential and skill that the league is looking for right now.  Who is your favorite player to exceed draft expectations?

 

Mine:  Okpala-late to the game, incredible athlete and body, dramitic improvement after one year at Stanford.

comps are not meant as 2011 examples. I mean this draft is supposed to be weak like 2011 but there were very good wing players in that draft that people overlooked. I see the same thing here. When all is said and done I think this will look like a very strong draft with a number of wings who contributed more than expected.

That’s where Brnadon Knight, Derrick Williams, Terrence Jones Kawhi Irving and moriss twins drafted, Why are you including Porzingis who was drafted in 2015?

 This draft reminds me of 1961 with Oscar Robertson at 1 and Jerry West at 2.  Super top heavy but two all time greats.  Other than that, Lenny Wilkens and Tom Sanders.  Is DeAndre Hunter this generation’s Satch? Satch Hunter would be such a cool nickname.

Or, maybe 1981 with Mark Aguirre at 1 (powerful combo forward who can score) and dynamic point guard at 2 in Isiah Thomas.  

Two more 6’6ish forwards and smallish guards going 1 and 2:

1967: Jimmy Walker at 1 and Earl Monroe at 2.

1991: Larry Johnson at 1 and Kenny Anderson at 2.  The rest of the draft board looks like ’91 but other than Dikembe and Terrell Brandon I forgot who the other guys were.

So, Zion is a combo of The Big O (Big E-Z?), Mark Aguirre, LJ, and Jimmy Walker albeit I am not too sure who he is.  

Ja Morant then is a combo of Jerry West, Isiah, Kenny Anderson, and Earl Monroe. I can actually see that.

 Of the players you mentioned, only Kyrie and Butler were drafted in 2011.

Porzingis (2015!)

George (2010)

Siakim (2016!)

Jae Crowder (2012)

Maybe you’re just referring to unexpected wing depth in 2011 in general? Leonard, Butler, Parsons, Bogdanovic, Harris were all pretty big steals at wing positions in 2011. Not sure why Porzingis is relevant though.
