If you did not know, DJ Premier is my favorite producer of all-time. He is my idol, and I love his beats. This was a fantastic article my friend CK sent me on 38 Primo gems. It just kind of gives a little background behind each track and gives a great look into artists he has worked with. These include Guru (of course), Lord Finesse, Joey Crack, Big L, Big Daddy Kane, Rakim, KRS-One, Jay-Z, NaS and Biggie. Primo gives you a completely different outlook on Biggie than you usually get, and their is actually a video of Preme talking more about "Kick in the Door", as it actually even dissed him in a line. The line is "Son I’m surprised you run with them, I heard they got cum in them, cause they nothing but dicks (trying to blow up like nitro and dynamite sticks)….". Premier said he stopped the record and was like "Oh, y’all got jokes huh!". He was pissed about it, but he let him do his thing. "Kick in the Door" is well known as being for Nas, but it was directed towards a lot of people. Biggie beefed with Jeru due to "One Day", a track that attacked Big and Bad Boy (though it was more for Puff than Big). Seriously, if you like hip hop, read this article.
