It may just be them simply playing decent basketball early season in particular Drummond, Rose & Kennard, but it’s got me wondering how good this team can be with a healthy Blake Griffin.
Drummond is looking like the player people expected him to be & then some, he has just had his 2nd 20-20 game this year against Brooklyn, D-Rose has been back to his crafty ways averaging 20ppg-6apg in only 25mpg & Luke Kennard is proving to be a very effective wing scorer which is something they have desperately needed. You throw Blake Griffin back into the mix & you could have a nightmare first round match-up on your hands.
Bruce Brown’s got a bright future. Guy does a little bit of everything for this team. Great defender provides grit and tonight he started at pointgaurd and gave them 22 points and 7 assists with no turnovers.
The only team I can see having difficulty with Detroit is Boston. Most top teams in the East have talented bigs and they have more depth than Detroit.
I hope Drummond’s production is sustainable into future seasons and not just a “contract year” spike, because he’s playing some great basketball right now. Love watching a throwback big man play.
