So Buddy Hield turned down 4yr – $90mil & that only that said if the Kings didn’t pay him another team will.
This contract would put him in line with the likes of Malcolm Brogdon & Zach LaVine, whose contracts are actually a little less than what Hield has been offered but both guys I would rather have than Hield.

What teams out there can you see paying Hield more than this?
Maybe Charlotte or New York keep doing there thing & go out hot, offering Hield a large contract as they’ll have cap room, but I actually can’t see it. A team he might fit with nicely is Memphis, but again I’m not sure.

If I’m Sacramento I probably turn around & go ok, if that’s how you feel, congratulations you are now our 6th man & promote Bogdanovic to the starting SG spot, who I believe is a better overall player than Hield & allow him to earn that SG spot & contract Hield has turned down.

 I read into it. They offered $90 mill over 4 seasons, Buddy wanted $110 over 4.  Its only $5 mill per season apart so they can still make a deal.

The Kings have Harrison Barnes contract, plus they got Fox and Bagley coming up – which i read is part of why they offered what they did.

Probably not the best quote, they offered him $22.5 per season for 4 years.  Its not like they lowballed Buddy.

They got Fox and Bagley, do the Kings really want to pay nearly $30mill per season for their 3rd guy.

A lot of teams will want his shooting. I  like Buddy but don’t know how far the Kings will ever go with Bagley, Fox and Hield though. To win a title, it’s ok if Fox is your second best player, and either Bagley or Hield is your 3rd best, but this group will do nothing if they max the three of them. Bogdanovic and Barnes are both 3rd/4th best player types anyway.

 Firstly if he Turned down 90 million he is a dumba** is he not aware the cap may shrink next season…Meaning even less money is out there.

Personally I see 90 mill is the highest any team will go due to age and that he is knd of only really a scorer not much else. Besides the Kings I don’t know who else goes we will take Buddy at 90 million. I could see alot of teams offering him 50-75 million though if things do fall through with the Kings… 

Teams that could maybe do something for him$ wise though not sure what all teams may offer though:

Memphis-They probably would take a swing to pair him with Ja morant and Jarren+ most likely a high pick this season…

Knicks-This would be a typical Knicks move to max this guy out which would be crazy as I see him as sort of similar to THJr…Who they just traded away..

OKC-If they can somehow move CP3’s horrible deal(they only way this happens) and maybe some how move one other average deal/A player who may not want to be there(Dennis S maybe) somewhere. Hield may do a cheaper deal as he liked in OKC due to college and may just want to move on from the Kings..  

Detroit when they have some bad deals come off the books and may somehow convince Andre Drummond to take trim on his next deal(but this depends on them being in win now mode not rebuild mode…

Hornets-But not sure they want big deals on the books and seem to be semi rebuilding…

Spurs-Sort of a random team but could make sense.

Magic when they have some average deals off the books-Fournier etc I could see them being a sort of wild card for his serivces

As for doing the come off the bench idea if Hield is the starter currently then I don’t mess with that as if they try do him dirty like that vs letting him play for his deal and failing/succeeding, players may see this and say yeah…No thanks come F.A+ I don’t know if they want to damage the rep they have worked hard to rep post maloofs. Bogdan has also had a few injuries so you may want to try keep work load managable in case Hield does leave…

You can’t get emotional when it comes to financial negotiations. The Kings are just doing their due diligence 

If you are lucky enough that you can afford a professional do the talking for you then you go ahead & let them

You can never say the wrong thing if you don’t say anyting

I can see it from both sides, the Kings are trying to do a fair deal but not overpay him and Hield and his people are looking for the best possible deals but aren’t miles away from what the Kings are offering. Also Hield turns 27 in a couple of months so won’t have the future paydays that guys 4 years younger in his draft class might get.

I’d think Kings will look to try and get a deal done if Hield will take $110 over 4 years.
