Brandon Marshall to the Chicago Bears for two 3rd round picks, 2012 and 2013.

Why are the Eagles not jumping on deals like these?!

Vincent Jackson signs with the Buccaneers on a 5-year, $55,555,555 contract.

Again, why are the Eagles not going after a big receiver?  We desperately need one.

Great deal by the Bears though, three years ago the Dolphins gave up a couple firsts and a second, and now they get a top notch reciever for just two thirds.

Not sure what my Niners are doing. Not going after Manning, and signing Randy Moss, I know Moss might still be able to play, but we needed to go younger, and more predictable prodution-wise, but Moss can still get it done.

is too much for any receiver. Not named Jerry Rice in 1986.

Instead, injuries and a lack of postseason success have defined McGrady’s career, and now at 33 years old he seems to have aged at a faster pace than his peers. Even as we talk about how Steve Nash, Jason Kidd and Grant Hill still have plenty left in the tank despite pushing 40, McGrady looks more like a former NBA player.

The Pistons are finally in a position where they can re-tool. There are two notable contracts worth watching – the non-guaranteed deal with Rodney Stuckey and the pending qualifying offer on Austin Daye. The smart money says Stuckey stays and Daye goes, but given the $8.5 million cap hit Stuckey represents, the Pistons might choose to use that money somewhere else. In an aggressive way the Pistons could get themselves almost $30 million under the cap. That number is likely going to be closer to $15 million when it’s all said and done with their own free agents and team options. Regardless of how the Pistons choose to play it, they could have serious cap money to play with and given that ownership is putting the pressure on team president Joe Dumars and company to get back to the playoffs, the Pistons could have a fairly flexible cap to make that happen.

“I’ll tell you this man, he hit a jump shot, a three, the other night in practice,” Smart said. “He hadn’t been taking them in games, when we scrimmaged. And he finally hit one, so not only as a coaching staff were we all waiting for that to happen in a game more than anything else, but when he hit it in practice, the entire team erupted because of that. So, yes, you can see it. He has to do that in order for the defense to respect what he can do when he puts the ball on the floor.”o698575

“As we’re speaking, I’m getting ready to put together a tape from where we were last year, and how he performed defensively, to what he’s done in training camp,” Smart said. “The guy has shown that he wants to commit to that side of the ball. He came in camp in great shape, did a great job in everything we were doing and wants to take the next step. He’s got to be consistent in his play every night. I said to him that he should be an all-defensive player.

More importantly, Smart believes the players he has under his guidance are tired of losing and ready to put the Kings back on the map, which currently has them in Sacramento.

“Without question,” Smart said. “Based on how they made the decision and effort to come back and train throughout the summer and how early they all came back three weeks before training camp, and then coming to camp in great shape and going out to Colorado Springs and doing the job.]9-8=0-80

“We’re going to see if it gets any better these next couple of days before we do another decision,” Nowitzki said. “That’s really the only update we’ve got. There’s a little swelling in there. It makes no sense at this point of the preseason to play on a swollen knee, so we decided to see what’s going to happen here in the next couple of days.”t5w543443

Up Close With Andre Iguodala: The Denver Nuggets are widely regarded as the scariest dark horse in the Western Conference. They may just be on the outside looking in on the true contender class that consists of the Oklahoma City Thunder, Los Angeles Lakers, San Antonio Spurs and Los Angeles Clippers, but those teams know that the Nuggets won’t be an easy out. HOOPSWORLD recently caught up with the Nuggets’ newest addition Andre Iguodala. Iguodala’s arrival is one of the main reasons optimism is so high in Denver. We talked to him about his conditioning after a long summer both mentally and physically, how he’s transitioning to being a Nugget and more in this exclusive video interview.bvsfg43434

“I’m still in Texas, so that’s cool,” Curry told HOOPSWORLD. “It’s a great organization and I’m extremely appreciative for this opportunity that Coach [Rick] Carlisle gave me, that Mark Cuban gave me, Donnie [Nelson] and everybody from top to bottom. It’s a great opportunity for me and I’m just extremely appreciative.”o[]o-09

“I thought he did OK,” Carlisle said. “He’s a really good offensive player around the basket. Defensively, there are some things we have to work with him on. In the pick-and-roll defense, he tends to stay back and zone up and our coverage is more aggressive. It’s a mindset; just something he’s got to get use to, but he did some good things.”

“I’m speechless,” Green said. “Every day I think about it, where I’ve come from. Last year at this time I was in China, I was working on my deal and getting ready to go to China, and that team ended up cutting me. It’s just crazy man. Every time I think about it, it’s just like, ‘Whoa.’ I did a complete 360 being there. It was like I turned around and I was different. Every time I talk about it, it’s crazy. I just never envisioned myself here, never.097906896

Fortunately for Green’s shooting percentage, this Celtics team isn’t reliant on players forcing things on offense. Practically every player on this team outside of Rajon Rondo and Darko Milicic plays two or more positions. That means sometimes the Celtics will have a size advantage, sometimes they’ll have a speed advantage, but they always have to be cognizant of who they’re matched up with.VASFD323

“Just being here with an Indiana Pacers jersey, it’s unbelievable,” Green said. “This is a really good fit for me; everybody is still young, we’re a playoff team, and I couldn’t be in a better place. Indiana is the home state of basketball and this organization is trying to change its image.-90[-98-08
