don042488ParticipantPeople compare Blake Griffin alot to Carlos Boozer, a young Karl Malone, and Charles Barkley, those are all great players, but the player I think he’s more likely to be like is Shawn Kemp (Seattle Sonics days).

jsdghifadgfuiogjkaghsdauigParticipantNo. I have lived in seattle all of my life and watched shawn kemp play almost every game and I see some comparison but nothing much; very little. . .shawn kemp is jump out the gym, I SHAT on you, type of player, while Blake has some of that game, I just dnt see a Kemp comparison. Hes more of a back to the basket, muscle you inside, type player. Every now and then he can handle the rock. Because I see Blake play his face to the basket (on some possesions) and fumble the ball constantly. He is mediocre in his handles though, not saying he is horrible. If Blake can handle the ball a tad bit better, he’ll be more than unstoppable. I say. . .Blake Griffin is the Next Karl Malone/Charles Barkely. And with a pick and roll game, can you say, “double double?” But I totally get what u r saying don. I respect ur opinion. Can you elaborate, Don, on why you think hes the next “Shawn Kemp?” And whats up with Blake Griffen’s height???? Is he 6″8 or 6″10? Im confused.

shipargosParticipantif mi sight doesnt fail he is 6’7.5 to 6´8 without shoes, i think a 6´9 with shoes is more accurate.
Well anyway nobody in nba plays without shoes.

A. StockHaha, That’s True. Griffin’s Athleticism And Strength Would Make Up For Him Only Being 6’9, So We’ll Se What He Measures Come Draft Time.

sauer1525ParticipantKemp played with alot more swagger, and was more showtime than Griffin. Not saying Griffin isnt a good athlete by any means, but Shawn Kemp took emphatic power dunks to the next level. He was a monster and had springs in his legs…griffin is def way more passive.

StevedotMARTIAN WAS A FIRST OVERALL PICK LIKE GRIFFIN WILL BE
DONT GET IT TWISTED
WHY AREN’T THERE GAME THE SAME
THEY BOTH CAN DRIBBLE THERE WAY TO THE COURT
AND FINISH WITH CONTACT OR BIG TIME DUNKS
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fN6oib1sQ0k&feature=related
BOTH HIGH FLYING BIG MEN DO WE AGREE?
BOTH HAVE A PHYSICAL PRESNSE DO WE AGREE GRIFFIN NO WHERE NEAR WEAK N HE BULLY ALOT OF PEOPLE DOWN LOW OR WORK EM DOWN LOW
KEYON MARTIAN
GETS BLOCKS AND REBOUNDSCOLLGE DAYS AND IN THE NBA
BOTH HAVE NO PROBLEM RUNNING THE COURT
UP TEMPO
I CANT SEE BOOZER OR MALONE RUNNING THE COURT WITH OUT BEING TIRED N
AND THEM BEING TIRED A MAKE THEM PLAY LESS HARD
WHEN HAVE U SEEN BOOZER OR KARL MALONE DO A WIND MILL
OR A ATHLETIC LOOKIN DUNK
THERE NOT ATHLTIC AS MARTIN NOR BLAKE
HAVE U HEARD OF
BOOZER OR MALONE TAKING PPL OFF THE DRIBBLENOW PAUL MILSAP
REMINDS PPL OF BOOZER
DOES MILSAP REMIND YOU OF BLAKE
NOOOOOOOOO
PLUS ITS THE SYSTEM THEY RUN THAT MAKES THEM PUT NUMBERS UP LIKE THAT
BOOZER LOOKED LOST IN THE OLYMPICS
SO MY COMPARSION TO KEYON MARTIAN ISNT CRAZY
MARTIAN WAS A GREAT PLAYER JUSS INJURED SINCE HIS COLLGE DAYS
HES ON A WINING TEAM RITE
BOOZER IS ARD BUT WILLIMS MAKES HIM BETTER
MARTAIN IS MARTIAN REGARDLESS
LIKE BLAKE WILL BE BLAKE
WITHOUT A GREAT POINT GAURD

cycloParticipantKenyon Martin in college is a good comparison also.
The NBADraft.net comparison should be Shawn Kemp/Kenyon Martin.

joecheck88ParticipantI said he was like kenyon martin a few weeks ago. But i said like kenyon martin at worst. Blake isn’t a knucklehead like kenyon has been, and i think at the same age blake is a little better than martin. as far as shawn kemp comparisons, i didn’t get to see kemp play much so i don’t know. but i think griffin will have a better career than both martin and kemp, but blake won’t come close to what karl malone did in his career.

DanEboyParticipantI believe Griffin’s game translates very well to the NBA. He is a very gifted athlete, can absolutely throw down dunks, he positions himself well on the floor to receive the open pass, has good court vision, and seems like the type of player that is willing to learn and get so much better. I think his ceiling is very high and if the team that drafts him hires a big man to work with him on his post moves and defensive positioning, he will be dominant. 6’8,6’9, or 6’10, it really doesn’t matter when you can jump out of the gym like he can. I don’t think he will be as bruising as Malone, but I think he will be a better all around player than Kemp or Martin aka Martian ( for Stevedot)

tuck243ParticipantStop I think I almost choked laughing at you…. LOL…. I’m just tired of hearing about Griffin all together. You know he’s going to be #1, you know what type of game he has, so please stop talking about what he is going to be as a player. I feel like everyone on this SITE has critique him so no need to continue to do it with a different player. Amare, Boozer, Malone, Martin, Kemp, or whoever else you can name. Just stop!!! I’m tired of seeing it… Because only thing you are doing is naming undersized PFs with strength and athleticism, so it doesn’t matter who you say next. Let me guess he is going to be a better David Lee? Just chill out….. And you cool Don but you are ODing on this and you know it…….
