Best: John Stockton (1984)
Amazingly, the Jazz were able to find their franchise cornerstones for the next 2 decades in consecutive drafts with the 16th and 13th picks. Stockton was far from a household name when he graduated from Gonzaga, and few projected him to be more than a solid role player. He only developed into the most consistent and durable point guard of all-time.
Other notables: Jusuf Nurkic (2014) Nikola Vucevic (2011) Hedo Turkoglu (2000) Ron Artest (1999) Rickey Green (1978)
Worst: Royce White (2012)
White was a guy that suffered from mental health issues related to anxiety in college. However, fully acknowledged it and seemed to make a remarkable turnaround after transferring to Iowa St. The Rockets decided to roll the dice and take a chance on him with one of their three first round picks in 2012. It seemed like a feel-good story but got very ugly from there. White requested special accommodations to be made over his fear of flying and was unsatisfied with what the Rockets were willing to offer, so he refused to play. He never appeared in an NBA game and is currently rumored to be training as an MMA fighter.
Other notables: Justin Patton (2017) Lucas Nogeira (2013) Troy Bell (2003) Kirk Haston (2001) Maurice Martin (1986)
