 He reportedly tested positive for a diuretic that is illegal because its used to mask the detection of PEDs and other substances in the body. There was no actual evidence of PEDs. The PA is preparing to immediately appeal to have the suspension reduced or rescinded based on the idea "unknowingly ingested" the diuretic. It’s sort of hard to see how that would be the case, but I guess it’s possible. It will be interesting to see how this plays out and it could be a big blow for the suns and ayton if the suspension is upheld.

Theoretically it could be an even bigger blow if he was previously taking PEDs and doesn’t continue to in the future.

 In my opinion, the hoopla in baseball was more about guaranteed contracts and guys who wanted and signed a huge guaranteed contract based on the performance of PEDs, getting injured or suddenly stopping to take them and their performance falling off a cliff as a result. The list of suspects in MLB during the "steroid era" who went off the juice mid contract is a mile long.

 As a Suns fan this isn’t good news and to get the 25 game rather than 10 game ban shows the seriousness of the event. I’d have thought that if he had been doing anything he shouldn’t have done that the team would have given him regular screening etc especially when he was drafted and his contract was insured.
