901GrizzParticipantAssuming the Cavs lose the series and assuming LBJ returns, what do the Cavs do? Do they keep the core 3 together or break it up? Do they really see Irving and Love as the right sidekicks to LBJ?
Personally, I’d trade Irving and Love. I know it’s a bold move, but I don’t see them as winners. Irving is at times a great scorer. A streaky shooter who doesn’t make others around him better. He is a below average defender. Love has yet to establish himself as the same player he was in Minnesota. I still think Love is a really good player. The Cavs just aren’t the right fit for him.
So how do you blow this team up without feeling like LBJ is starting all over? I think the Cavs can make moves this summer that will significanly upgrade them as a team, even if they aren’t for big names.
One good fit for Love would be Boston. Boston and Coach Stevens could rlly maximize Love’s talent IMO. You send Love to Boston for #3 & Crowder.
A trade scenario for Irving could be a sign and trade for Conley to Memphis. It gives Cleveland a defensive minded guard that can shoot and plays D. Memphis gets a better scoring guard that can should improve their offense.
And I think there are lots of names in free agency that would immediately help the Cavs. Evan Turner. Marvin Williams. Courtney Lee. Just to name a few.
The #3 pick could be used to take whoever they feel will be the best fit…. or used in a trade for Okafor?? Which is what I would do if I were the Cavs.
So now you’re looking at a lineup of…
Mike Conley
Courtney Lee
LeBron James
Jae Crowder
Jahlil Okafor
I do think this is a significant upgrade to their current team. My wheels have just been spinning watching this team play. How can they upgrade this roster? This is just a few that I’ve come up with.
Thanks!

markfitz14ParticipantLove is finally getting exposed now that he is actually playing in the playoffs. He does not make up for what he lacks in defense on the offensive end. Draymond has destroyed him. Not sure which team will give equal value for Love now. making 20 mill a year he will be hard to trade.
Cavs(Lebron) absolutely don’t want a pick. They want veterans who are playoff tested. Plus the 3# and Crowder dosen’t work in the trade machine the money is to far off. Works if they add Amir. But I would rather have the defense of Crowder at this point. Love has gone down that much.
I would try to get a team to take him for a player I could cut to get the money off the books. Then sign Batum and move Lebron to guard Dray.
Trade Irving for Conely is pretty decent. Maybe CP3 for Irving. CP3 could help defend Curry better.

Untouchable JParticipantTrade Kevin Love for cents on the dollar and just bite the bullet.
You’re likely loking at Jae Crowder , Avery Bradley….Mo Harkless/Allen Crabbe/Aminu
You’re not getting the #3 pick or equal value.
Thsts not too bad tho bc 2017 is the mega FA class and im positive Bron will recruit a top tier player…the real question is at what position.

Untouchable JParticipantLebron is aging. A "true" pg implies Bron is willing and ready to score 25-30 a night. He’s not.
I really like that Portland trade bc 1) you keep Love out west. Boston has 2 Nets 1st rounders and cap space. You dont wanrt to inadvertantly help create a team that dethrones you. 2) You dont pin yourself down with salary
Next year: Kyrie, JR, Harkless/Aminu, Bron, Thompson. Bench: Crabbe, Mozgov, Delly
2017 Unrestricted FAs: Westbrook, Griffin, probably KD again, Gordon Hayward, Derrick Rose, Gallinari , Ibaka
We’re talking Lebron here. The masses may hate him but all those players above are his sons. They came up in his camps, he’s everyones big brother. Im positive Bron will get a max player to sign with Cleveland.
