With reports  of Joe Johnson joining via trade,Deron and Wallace signing back   and one of the top euroleague scorers Mirza Teletovic under contract the nets look like a playoff team.Lopez and Kris are expected to sign back and the nets still have a 1.4 mil trade exception and a 1.9 mil bi- annual exception and reggie evans who shined in the clippers griz match up  gained with a 3 mil trade exception for a future second rounder.

Is this a contender? The owner(s) dont look  afraid to spend maybe the contracts they are takeing back may come back to hurt them if this blows up in the face. But if this doesnt in wallace gives you 10 and 10 during the entire contract thsi team is a sure second round playoff team capable of getting to the finals.

    what are your thoughts?

Define "back". Perhaps, competing for the 7th or 8th seed? Maybe. Competing for NBA championships? No. Honestly though it all depends on how the All-Stars gel together on the court, we won’t know anything until we see them actually play. The only upside they have over NY situation right now is they have a true PG in Deron.

Just when the Clippers thought they were going to establish themselves as the kings of L.A., the Lakers pull off two monster trades for the ages and throw the Clippers back into the shadows. Still, the Clippers had a very good offseason in their own right. The additions of Lamar Odom, Jamal Crawford, and Grant Hill should go a long way in helping them climb up the Western Conference standings. Of course, they need a healthy Blake Griffin, but according to reports he’s already back to 100 percent.

”I feel pretty good, but I keep telling you guys, I want to be 110 percent,” Howard said. ”I have to make sure I’m in great shape, and my conditioning is where it needs to be. It’s a process, and we’ll get there.”
