 I think his ceiling is Jeff Teague and basement is Tyler Ulis.

 I actually like the teague comparisons a lot, as a score first PG with solid size and a good stroke…with a little of Lou Will’s shiftiness. He doesn’t seem like a Dame or even Kyrie level talent but he’ll at least be a solid starter

I actually have garland at 3 ahead of RJ. His game is predicated around his amazing Jumpshot and yo yo handle. He’s not much more than a road connection on defense, but if he can continue to make the transition to pg instead of small Sg,.. he could be great.

I like Garland a lot. Crafty ball handler that can shoot.  I would take him over RJ all day.  He may even be better than Ja out the gate…definitely more polished skill set

I have an eye for talent Scrooge.  I like Morant but he has an enormous usage rate.  Plus he isn’t the most polished of finishers. I think Garland could lead a young team like Memphis or Chicago just as well.  My “bolder” take is on RJ Barrett.  I think he is a low end starter in the league…won’t get nearly the touches and isn’t particularly efficient

Has a very good shooting form. Doesn’t jump too much from his jumpshot with a pretty good form. Has shown potential that he can attack the basket as well though it can still be improved. Kinda reminds me of Chauncey Billups.

Both Garland and Okeke left the combine early. Given that neither guy is healthy enough to really do anything there, I suspect this is an agent play to give the impression of a team loving them. It is no risk play by the agent. If some team bites, the agent gets his client more money and an earlier pick. If not, the player was not healthy enough to aid his cause by being there, so he cannot get blamed for trying.

I’ve made a couple posts about him. Love his handle, deep range, shiftiness, and pull-up / step back ability. 

He’ll fit on a lot of different teams. Since he can shoot & get into the paint, he can be paired with bigs that can either pop or roll hard to the rim. I love that versatility in today’s game.

His passing is better than his small sample size stats indicate. Not great, but pretty good nonetheless.

He’s a bucket getter, and his smooth natural rhythym will endear itself to whatever team drafts him and gives him an opportunity early. I wouldn’t let Darius slip outside of the top 5.

I would have him around 4…  I could see him also being top 3.

Ja Morant vs. Darius Garland might be THE insanely fun point guard matchup for the next decade.

Maybe a higher floor than Ja due to shooting.

I actually like Darius Garland with Phoenix, if they did promise him and he falls to them.  Garland and Ayton can play the pick and pop game or the pick and roll game with Mikal Bridges … wow, I forgot about Devin Booker.  Yeah.  That team is gonna be loaded.  Mikal is a great/ideal 3 and D fourth option behind three high end options on offense.

I think I have RJ Barrett behind both a little bit in terms of "upside" although if I am the Knicks I give him the ball and run pick/rolls with Mitchell Robinson.  RJ Barrett Mitchell Robinson sounds like a high end white shoe Midtown Manhattan corporate law firm specializing in hostile takeovers.

Lakers at 4 are probably gonna MASSIVELY mess up.  Unless they move the pick for AD.

If the Pelicans get 4, to go along with Zion, then they should definitely get Darius Garland.  Put Zion at center at let the rest of the league figure it out.  If you watch highlights of the McDonald’s game from 2018 (and the scrimmage high lights), Darius Garland makes some great passes to Zion.  Those two could have great chemistry.  Garland would have a TON of gravity on the perimeter, with Zion having a ton of gravity on the inside.

The other top "gravity" guy in this draft is probably Tacko Fall.  The guy is MASSIVE.  He’s working on his foul shooting too.  

If any of the winners of the Zion/Ja/RJ/Garland/Hunter sweepstakes ALSO gets Tacko Fall then that team wins the draft.

I like Bol Bol, too, but his measurements should be in a museum not on a basketball court.  Highly skilled big man, but he could make Ralph Sampson’s longevity look like Cal Ripken Jr.’s.

Kris Wilkes is my sleeper wing.  Moses Brown is my other sleeper big man.  Not sure why UCLA didn’t win more with these 2.
