     Lakers acquired Anthony Davis from the Pelicans for Lonzo Ball, Josh Hart, Brandon Ingram and 3 1st rd. picks including the 4th overall pick. Damn, it finally happened. That duo of Lebron and A.D is scary. #WojBomb

    So the Lakers will have James, Davis, Kuzma, Wagner & Bonga under contract if I’m not mistaken & about $36mil in cap space still remaining.

    They still have plenty of coin to go after another high end free agent or get some nice players & build a bit of depth, particularly at both guard spots.

     

    I’d personally look at guys like Terrence Ross, Patrick Beverley & the like. James, Davis & Kuzma is plenty of star power, they need to make sure the roster has depth.

      I agree: 3 and D guys. They have enough offense. Although, they don’t really have a guy who will split the lane real quick.

    this has potential to go down as the worst trade ever. Think about what the Pelicans are getting. They already have the #1 pick, Zion, they’re getting the 4 pick, plus Lonzo + Josh Hart + Ingram. This is already an interesting roster and be fun to watch. What is more interesting is what happens if Lebron at 34 yrs old with a ton of wear and tear gets hurt or AD, who is already injury prone is injured? Now, the Pelicans have 3 of their first round picks which I believe are unprotected.

      They should’ve just lottery protected the last one. LeBron’s contract will be over by then. It might be time to start over then (unless AD signs long-term).

       You do know the Lakers just secured a 26 years old superstar player for the forseable future right? Ball couldn’t stay healthy, Hart wasn’t really good to be honest. BI could become great but not as good as Davis. This also puts them in the running for big free agents this summer..

    Not a fan of Ball personally but this is a fine deal for the Pels IF Ingram is ready to play along with all the first round draft picks. They had holes at the wing for years and Ingram should solve this. He wasn’t able to show his passing game along LeBron and he should flourish in NO.

    This Lakers roster might really be thin next year and while LeBron, AD and Kuz should get Buckets, I think defense might be a real problem. James wasn’t interested in playing any defense for at least two years now and while AD has a reputation as being a good defender, the advanced numbers say he is no game changer there if I‘m not mistaken. Adding someone like Butler might really make a difference for the Lakers but if injuries catch them these draft picks can be gold for the next couple of years. 

    Glad the AD drama is over now and somehow interesting that the league kind of let this happen after the tampering from Magic and I‘m not so sure this deal would have went through if he would still be in charge. As we all know Stern once waved off the CP3 trade and it would be strange if a gm (or was the team fined?) is fined for tampering and in the end this team is winning the trade battle…

    This makes draft day and the upcoming free agency even more exciting. Ainge might need to make moves as well now of he ever wants to use his infamous treasure of picks and players.

    Obviously the trade had all but happened for about a week now but glad that suspense is finally over and its finally going down. Ingram should be the scorer zion looks to early in his career to create shots and both he and Ingram should get great looks off lonzos passing. The lakers should use the 30 million in cap to put nice pieces around Bron and AD unless Kemba who there targeting takes slightly less than the max. If I were Pelinka I would target Brook Lopez and Seth curry who both made around 3 million this year. Considering they both fill needs(shooting/rim protection) they should be no brainers. Should also consider Bojan Bogdanovic and Terrence Ross. Wayne Ellington should be an inexpensive 3 and D guys as well and if im Pelinka im giving a call to Trevor Ariza. Its feeling like 2009 again.

    The LAL will have between 27 and 32 miilion in cap space depending on AD getting 4 million on a trade clause on his contract.

     I would have given up Kuzma in a heartbeat to keep one of Ingram or Ball.  Hopefully the Lakers know Kawhi is coming for sure because they just mortgaged the whole young core for AD.

    2019 4th overall pick

    2021 1st round pick(protected)

    2024 1st round pick (unprotected)

    Rights to swap 2023 1st round picks.
