2019-2020 Season Predictions Update

Okay, so now that this weird season is over, we can see where everyone is at. I followed the standings on NBA.com. Which means Wizards didn’t fall below Charlotte. Also, I’m not factoring in the play in game as who gets 8th place. Portland had the 8th best record and Memphis is in 9th. East Standings:
1. BKGingerSnap: 45 points (nailed Boston, Indiana, Miami, Brooklyn, Orlando and Chicago)
2. nbadraft consensus: 43 points (BKGingerSnap is the only one smarter than the average bear in the East)
3. festar35, RUDEBOY, r377 and OhCanada: 39 points
7. high floor, faithnomuz and Blackhole1374: 35 points
10. HobbyOG: 34 points
11. dmo21: 33 points
12. llperez, BallerScript and mamadou: 31 points
15. Zouldiers, stifler101 and Scrooge McDuck: 29 points
18. cohenbc1: 23 points
19. Andrew1984: 20 points (well, you aren’t last haha)
20. DC Fraz: 19 points (started good with getting the Bucks right, but never got another spot on pick after that. Also, Detroit and New York in the playoffs????)

45 points for the East is the second best ever, almost surpassing Jr. ROXAS total of 47 from the 2016-2017 season.

West Standings:
1. festar35, Blackhole1374 and DC Fraz: 27 points (As you can see, nobody put up high points in the West)
4. dmo21, llperez, Andrew1984, RUDEBOY and BallerScript: 23 points
9. Zouldiers, stifler101, high floor, mamadou and nbadraft consensus: 21 points
14. ZHobbyOG, BKGingerSnap and cohenbc1: 19 points
17. r377 and Scrooge McDuck: 17 points
19. faithnomuz: 15 points
20. OhCanada: 13 points (should have had more faith in the LA teams. you had them 4th and 5th instead of 1st and 2nd. Also, the worst total points for the West Standings ever…)

Nobody did great in the west with the best being 2 spot on picks by a couple of posters. But in reality, that’s a good thing as that means the competition level is closer in the West.

Overall Standings:
1. festar35: 66 points
2. BKGingerSnap and nbadraft consensus: 64 points
4. RUDEBOY and Blackhole1374: 62 points
6. dmo21, high floor and r377: 56 points
9. llperez and BallerScript: 54 points
11. HobbyOG: 53 points
12. OhCanada and mamadou: 52 points
14. Zouldiers, stifler101 and faithnomuz: 50 points
17. Scrooge McDuck and DC Fraz: 46 points
19. Andrew1984: 43 points
20. cohenbc1: 42 points

Much closer standings this year compared to last year where stifler101 had an 8 point lead over second place after the standings round. Still anybody’s game!

Statistical Rankings:
1. llperez: 16 points (only person to predict LeBron leading the league in APG)
2. OhCanada: 13 points
3. mamadou: 11 points
4. festar35, Andrew1984, BKGingerSnap, cohenbc1, faithnomuz and BallerScript: 10 points
10. Zouldiers: 9 points
11. HobbyOG, high floor, r377 and nbadraft consensus: 8 points
15. dmo21, stifler101, RUDEBOY, Scrooge McDuck, Blackhole1374, and DC Fraz: 5 points (lot of company in last place)

Nobody finished top 3 in both the standings and statistical predictions, which is keeping the contest quite close for once.

Now we have to wait for the NBA to announce their regular season award winners. But for now, here are the current standings. There’s also a potential of 25 points up for grabs, which means it is still anybody’s game!
