The 2008 NBA draft is still a couple hours away, but the wheeling and dealing is already in high gear.

Sources close to NBADraft.net say the Seattle SuperSonics and Los Angeles Clippers will be swapping spots in the lottery.

Seattle, who has its eye on Stanford center Brook Lopez, will move down to No. 7 while the Clips, desperate for backcourt help, will likely select Russell Westbrook at No. 4.

The Sonics will pick up L.A.’s 2009 first-round pick (protected) in exchange for the three-spot drop.

The rest of the deal is still being hammered out, but look for an official announcement during tonight’s draft.

** UPDATE, 3:10 PST **

Sources close to NBADraft.net say this deal appears to be off. The Sonics wanted more than what the Clippers were comfortable parting with. Conversation between the two sides is still going strong, but as of right now, Seattle is still picking No. 4 and Los Angeles is picking No. 7. I think that Gordon is the guy to go at #4 and depending on how 5,6 go I think Bayless is who the Sonics prefer.

What did the Clippers give up to move the ffew spots.

    ALSO
Apparently this deal ONLY goes through IF OJ Mayo goes #3 to the Wolves, otherwise the deal is off.
