NBADraft.net: What do you feel are your advantages over other NBA prospects competing to get drafted?
Andrew Goudelock: Experience is a big advantage that I feel I have over other players in the draft. I know a lot that they don’t know about the game. I’m a student of the game, I have been waiting my whole life for this opportunity, and I am enjoying every minute of this process.
NBADraft.net: Every year you have made quantum leaps in your game. How is it that you have improved on your game every summer?
Andrew Goudelock: This past summer I lost 10 pounds. All summer I played with good players and each day I just gained more and more confidence. Going into this fall I just approached the season with a now or never mentality.
NBADraft.net: How is it that you have your biggest games against the bigger/better teams?
Andrew Goudelock: I just get up for the better teams. I play with a positive chip on my shoulders and I just relish every chance I get to prove that I am an NBA player.
NBADraft.net: What do you bring to an NBA franchise?
Andrew Goudelock: I feel like I bring a lot to a franchise. Not just as a player, I’m going to roll my sleeves up and get involved in the community for whatever team that I get drafted by. I’m a coachable player and I feel like I can help any team and play in any system.
NBADraft.net: What about being in the NBA are you looking forward to the most?
Andrew Goudelock: Besides the thrill of competing against the best players in the world on a daily basis, I am really looking forward to opening up my own gym. If I didn’t have access to a gym I don’t know if I would have made it this far in life and I want to give kids the same opportunity that I had. Having a gym gave me and guys like Travis Leslie and Marshon Brooks a chance; I want to give other kids a chance in life.
NBADraft.net: What NBA player would you compare your game to?
Andrew Goudelock: I never really modeled my game after anyone. I took pieces of a few of my favorite players like Allen Iverson, Ben Gordon, and Jason Terry. I’ve heard comparisons to Stephon Curry and Eddie House.
NBADraft.net: Is there any team you would like to play for in particular?
Goudelock: No, not really. I just want to get drafted by a team that wants and needs me. Every team needs a player that can knock down shots, and I believe I’ve shown that while playing at Charleston and in workouts. Whoever drafts me is going to get a hard working individual and a team player. I’m dedicated to being successful, so hopefully I go to a team that wants to win just as bad as I do.
NBADraft.net: Some would say you are an “under the radar” type of player, why do you think that is?
Goudelock: Well I wasn’t heavily recruited out of high school. I may have had 2 or 3 real scholarship offers. I had a great four years at Charleston and we won some big games, my favorite has to be the win against UNC. But we didn’t have many nationally televised games, so a lot of people still didn’t get to see me play. I think a lot of people really took notice after I won the Three Point Shootout.
NBADraft.net: Obviously the possibility of an NBA lockout deterred a lot of underclassman from declaring for this year’s draft. You didn’t have that option, but what are your plans if there is indeed a lockout?
Goudelock: I’m not sure yet. It depends mainly on where I get drafted and what the team wants me to do. I never grew up dreaming about playing overseas. My goal is, and always has been the NBA, so whatever I have to do to make it onto an NBA a roster, I’m willing to make the necessary sacrifice. As of right now though, my agent and I are weighing all options.
NBADraft.net: Some players travel to the draft, others throw parties or stay home, what are your plans for draft night?
Goudelock: Most likely I’m going to stay at home with my family and watch on television. I’m a very grounded individual. It’s going to be a very exciting and important night for me, I want to spend it with the ones that helped me get to this point. Hopefully, I don’t have to wait long to hear my name.

There is NO WAY the Bulls pass on him at 28 and 30! He is hands down the best shooter in the draft and has exactly what we lacked in this years playoffs, heart and scoring ability! I’m from the CHI and everyone who knows bball here loves him… Lets hope the front office feels the same way.

My Nets need a player just like Andrew Goudelock. I have seen us linked to Charles Jenkins, Nolan Smith, and even Travis Leslie. We need a NBA ready player who can cntribute now. We also need someone who can stretch the floor and provide a scoring punch off the bench. This is the perfect player for us. Everyone said that he absolutely dominated in his workout with us, so I hope that he don’t let him slip out of our hands if he gets to us at #27.
