    Who’s got the best roster so far on paper??? It’s a tough one, but maybe I’ll say the obvious that Duke has to be in the convo at minimum;

    Cayden Boozer
Cedric Coward (assuming he withdrawals from the draft)
    Nikolas Khamenia
    Cam Boozer
    Malique Brown

That’s a darn good starting 5 at least. There’s always that possibility that Isaiah Evans returns as well, which could make him slide in the starting lineup or at least challenge Khamenia and rotate with him and Coward. We mentioned some teams earlier like St. John’s, Louisville and BYU and maybe Iowa on another thread, figured we could have a thread about rosters, transfers, and new commits and lump all those topics into one here… Anyways, who’s the team to beat right now in college basketball in your opinion??? Who will have the best chance to rise their stock based on the team he’s on? What team/player are you excited about next season?

If Coward goes to Duke then they will be strong. Patrick Ngongba also looked good when he got into rotation so might be a good replacement for Maluach.

UConn getting Ball and Karaban back plus a few good freshman and transfers should be better than last season.

Purdue have two legit player of the year contenders returning so I’ll throw them in.

you know… don’t know how we didn’t mention Houston next year. They’re going to be nasty!!!
      I think it’s something like this;

      Chris Cenac – PF/C
      Isiah Harwell – G
      Kingston Flemings – G
      Bryce Jackson – G
      JoJo Tugler – PF/C
      Emanuel Sharpe – SG/SF
      Jacob McFarland – PF/C
      Mercy Miller – G
      Chase McCarty – SG/SF
      Pop Isaacs – G

What’s your thoughts on Kansas next year? Peterson could have Ja impact maybe? With more talent around him perhaps?

Kansas have bought in 3 very experienced college guards in Melvin Council Jnr, Jayden Dawson and Tre White. Given Tre is 6ft 7ins I could see him playing as a SF possibly. Melvin averaged over 4apg last year so must have done a lot of ball carrying so will Kansas play Peterson off ball. Peterson has averaged less apg than this in his last couple of HS years but is he a ball carrier to creates his own scoring?

Flory Bidunga will return as the top big man so a starting 5 of Council, Peterson, Dawson, White and Bidunga gives Bill Self lots of ball carrying options and good scoring support around Peterson. There are a few returners to fill out the bench and they may add another transfer or two.

The starting 5 around Darryn looks very good but what the 6 to 8th man depth would be. I’d be less sure.

I like what Indiana did – picking up the young talented Josh Harris and his star teammate Jasai Miles from North Florida… They have a good foundation.

Sounds like Dame Sarr will be playing at Kansas next year. Not confirmed yet. The Wiggins comparison will be overused quickly.

Sarr and Peterson would be cant miss basketball.

Throwing Dame Sarr onto the Jayhawks roster gives them immediate depth. NCAA teams often have guard heavy line ups so Kansas can get all their best players minutes. If they have a decent back up big to Bidunga they could be very strong.

You know… I was looking at some rosters last night and couldn’t help to notice NC State. They’re a team to watch out for again. The wings might collectively be as good as any other team with great wings outside of BYU next season in the country… And they might end up with PJ Haggerty if he decides to withdrawal.

ESPN have ranked their top 25 potential rosters for the next NCAA season. The Jayhawks are only ranked no 21 which is too low imo. Surely they should be in the top 12.

Purdue look very strong and if Daniel Jacobson is sound they have great frontcourt size behind top starters Kaufmann-Renn and Cluff. Throw in the top PG in Braden Smith who will also add good scoring as well as creating for others and they look impressive.

Purdue does look stellar, but I don’t think they’re going to finish the season on top. Next year I think will be interesting. The ACC is back and the BIG 12 looks a little better than last year. Big East looks better too at the top. I’m eager to see the next cycle already, yet still enjoying this one… Monday we see who picks where in the lottery.

Oscar Cluff is going to be a real big issue for the Big 10 especially playing next to Braden Smith. Theres not a better player in college basketball for him to team up with or a better program. Look what these guys did with Luka Garza, Zach Edey, Caleb Swanigan. They have made it work in the past and its a perfect fit.

I watched a few of Cluff’s games with South Dakota St. I watched him absolutely dominate and I watched him struggle. He can’t really get himself involved he absolutely needs a player like Smith to get him valuable touches. He also struggled reading defences out of doubles. When hes on he has great footwork and just a counter for every counter. Extremely skilled. Purdues gonna be tough to beat.

They will, but if you look on paper – I’d rather have Houston/BYU maybe Duke

I think its Houston. I’m very excited for BYU , Duke and even Kansas as they are one move away from being in that tier as well and are targetting Sarr and Darrion Williams but I don’t remember the last time a Freshman led a team to the NCAA title. Maybe Jahlil Okafor a decade ago? My favorites still Houston because they have blend of experienced returning players and incoming freshman. I also think Arkansas is being slept on a bit.

If Uzan returns then the Cougars could be as strong as last season. BYU has some scary scoring power and are a top 6 team nationally in my view.

UConn will be stronger than last season but I don’t see them being as good as the 23 and 24 champions. They could go near to Final 4 with some luck.

Duke have more experience than last season but might need Cedric Coward not to declare and Cameron Boozer to do pretty much what Cooper Flagg did this season if they are to go to finals weekend again.

My top 5 are a bit boring but in no order – UConn, Purdue, Duke if Coward goes there, BYU and Houston if Uzan returns.

I think that Houston’s likely slightly more talented than last season’s championship team and that’s with or without Milos Uzan. He would add icing to the cake though. Who knows if talent = title though.
