I wouldn’t be surprise if they didn’t cuz Jeannie Buss wants to show the world that she runs the Lakers and not Lebron and Rich Paul..What do you guys think.

I posted on a thread awhile ago that I thought Monty Williams would be a great hire for them.

If Buss chooses to go with Williams, it’ll be because he’s a great fit, not because she wants to show she runs the Lakers. The world already knows she runs the Lakers lol.

They’ll hire whoever LeBron tells them to hire. I’m a LeBron fan, but when you bring him to town you do so knowing your going to overpay his favorite guys (Tristan thompson) and hire his coach.

They could try to do something other than that, I suppose, but if they do, I predict it will end just like this season did.

History shows that most teams hire one of the 1st 3 guys teams interview.  So Monty Williams, Ty Lue, or Juwan Howard. Jeanie Buss made a big deal about how she and not LeBron or RichPaul runs the franchise. Ty Lue might be too public of a show of who is boss (LeBron) for Jeanie’s liking. But I think they can sell him on Monty Williams.

I think it’s Monty Williams because of his relationship with Anthony Davis and I think they can sell LeBron on whatever it takes to get AD.

Ty Lue is a bad fit. He’s just going to let LeBron do all the plays. They need a guy like Monty Williams to help coach the young guys. He’s what the Lakers need, not Lue.

Monty is probably well respected by AD so hiring him could well increase their chances of landing him in due course.

Juwan Howard is the interesting one IMO – He hasn’t had a Head Coaching role yet but has worked with Reilly and Spol in Miami for several years and played with LBJ on a couple of title teams so might he be the compromise between Lue and Monty?

Buss should hire the coach she thinks can help the Lakers win. That probably means the coach with LeBron’s blessing.

Monty’s relationship with AD is irrelevant — AD is going to get traded, not choose his team. If NO were happy with the Lakers’ offer (every good young player on the team), they would have traded AD there already. He’s going to Boston unless the Celts make a deep playoff run and Ainge decides not to deal.

Lue goes to the lakers because Lebron wants him there. Lebron is aging and will not have the same impact and this team is going to be medicore. Monty Williams or Marc Jackson is a better hire.

Jennie Buss just allowed her special ed trust fund brat brother jim to burn the franchise to the ground for several years w/ no oversight!

The she hands the reigns to Kobe’s Agent & Magic (I LUV Magic) but Neither have Any experience Running – much less Building a team

but now she’s afraid the optics will look bad if she hires Ty Lue b/c it’ll look like Lebron is running the team!?!?

When you Signed Lebron you Already put him in charge! So don’t 1/2 @ss it – just commit to allowing lebron to try to build the team w/ his coach & the players he wants to chase

I admit this might Not work – but I DO know that you can Not go in 2 diff directions at the same time!

So you can’t try to build a champion w/ lebron & free agents while simultaneously trying to develop young talent just in case lebron’s plan A don’t work out

Life does Not work that way – you have to Commit 100% — It’s Tsun Tzu Art of War & Fortune Favors the Bold type stuff – When u sign lebron u r committing to a Win Now mode so Go for it! And if it does not work then you start from scratch in a few years post Lebron
