    I like the Raptors moves over the last 2 years. They have taken risks. They moved on popular guys like Derozan, Dwayne Casey an JV, but the are undoubtedly in a better position to win. They are still a darkhorse right now. Siakam is a great talent, Lowry has adjusted and Kawhi has fit right in.

    But.. if they don’t win and Kawhi goes, what do you do?
    As good as they are, I don’t think they can win the East without him unless they surprise everyone and sign like a KD or big time replacement.

    If Kawhi walks, I would immediately trade away Gasol, Lowry, Ibaka and any other depreciating asset (ie. 30+ older vet with value) and blow it up completely for picks, building around Siakam. I would still be in f the opinion they’ve done the right thing to date though. You always need to roll the dice.

    What would you do?

    Siakam is a rising talent, but no way would I build a team around him. He is a good 3rd, maybe 2nd option at best. 

    Raptors should try to trade up and draft RJ to pair with Siakam.

      I think your wrong about Siakam. He could easily be averaging low 20’s-ppg as Toronto’s first option and he’s the reason I wont be upset of Kawhi leaves. Raptors still win 50 this year or next without Kawhi.

     Siakam is good but no way can he be the best player on a championship team. I know youre a raptors fan but look at it objectively. 

    Blowing it up if kawhi walks would be the right move. A lot of teams are after their GM too apparently (lakers, wiz)

       How many players in the history of the league have been the best player on a Championship team? 30 maybe?

      No Im not saying hes a top 30 player alltime Im saying he can average above 20 ppg and lead the team in scoring in a winning season.

    I don’t think it will be a massive deal if Kawhi does end up leaving Toronto. Will probably take them from a championship contender back to just a regular playoff team. Things to note: the Raptors still played good whenever Kawhi would sit out. Also, with Kawhi (and maybe Gasol) leaving, that opens up a bunch of money to replace their production with while also resigning Danny Green. Maybe they can swoop in and grab a guy like Butler or Middleton as Philly and Milwaukee have a bunch of free agents to deal with as well. I’d expect Toronto to be a middle of the pack playoff team if Kawhi leaves and they don’t totally blow it up.

     Obviously the goal would be to get players better than Siakam to play with him! ForFthe record, iIthink he can be an all sta rrand probably the 2nd best player, but yes, you need a star as well.   When I say build around Siakam, I mean if Kawhi goes and you trade the vets, he’s the main guy I’d keep and draft around. He would be the best player they have left in that model.

    lebron, kd, steph, harden, greek freak, kawhi, ad… 

    theres 7 off the top, and those are guys in the league rn…
