    It kind of got lost in the shuffle of the magic news and the dirk/ wade send offs but last night Jamal Crawford just became the oldest player in nba history to score 50 points in a game at 39 years of age. He also became the first player to accomplish the feat for 4 different teams in his career.  

    Of course, Crawford hasn’t officially announced his retirement, and he may or may not play next season, depending on circumstances that may be beyond his control. But if this really turns out to be his last nba game, it’s quite a way to go out.

     I’d noticed that but wasn’t sure if MJ had had a big scoring game at a later age. He’d had a couple of big games just prior to this so if he has finished he’s gone out on a great personal note.

    As one of the greatest 6th men ever, he has certainly done himself no harm in putting himself in the shop window for another year if a legit contender needed to fill out their roster. He’s one of the greatest 3 point shooters of his era, is very durable, still plays to a high level and was voted team mate of the year in last year’s NBA awards which shows that he must be a great locker room, veteran presence. So he tickets just about every box a GM is looking at. Also he is within touching distance of 20,000 career points so may want a dash at that.

    I wonder if last night’s game was the greatest combined age of two guys both getting over 30 points in a game too.

     Wow the most surprising thing to me is that Crawford is 39 years old. I remember watching him at Michigan. This makes me feel old.

       What makes me feel even older is the fact that while he and I are roughly the same age, he still looks EXACTLY the same now as at 20. WTF? I look in the mirror and I see an aging ex-basketball player whose knees hurt bending over to tie the the trash bags. Jeez. FML!
