I like some of these comparisons but Keldon Johnson is way off. He excels in the open court where Rip Hamilton and Allan Houston were more known for their mid range games in the half court. He has a nice shot but the only similarities really.

I would compare him more to Terrence Ross. He seems like the guy that will score at the next level but not necessarily do much more than that at a high level.

From a run / jump athletic standpoint. He’s adept at jumping off both one foot & two feet…. giving credence to both Chuck and Dominique. The other comps are just too generous….. If this draft really played out the way you’re comparing it will be the greatest draft of all time. Which it assuredly will not be.

I have no idea about the imports.

Good comparisons: I am finding that comparisons from WAY back make more sense than comps to guys who played within the past 10 to 15 years.

I will post some comparisons soon… I have had some weird ones for Zion Williamson but I have seen the same comps pop up on other sites, so maybe I am doing something right.

"Play styles" are easy to find — it’s magnitude/star wattage that is difficult to sync up — especially trying to find guys who have similar playing styles AND star power (or a relative lack thereof).

     Ok, here is mine:

    1. Zion Williamson: Elgin Baylor meets Hank Gathers

    2. RJ Barrett: Oscar Robertson

    3. Jarrett Culver: Danny Manning

    4. De’Andre Hunter: Rodney McCray

    5. Darius Garland, Jr.: Kenny Anderson

    6. Ja Morant: Jason Williams aka White Chocolate

    7. Tre Jones: since somebody took my retro comparison I am gonna go WAAY back with KC Jones

    8. Tyler Herro: Allan Houston

    9. Keldon Johnson: Jeff Malone

    10. Nassir Little: George McGinnis meets Tony Allen

    11. Bruno Fernando: Darryl Dawkins (I saw a Darryl Dawkins comp for Zion which is something I thought of but Zion is magnitudes better with more upside but also not as tall).

    12. Kevin Porter, Jr.: Richard Dumas

    13. Admiral Schofield: Mark Aguire

    14. Tacko Fall: Bill Russell meets Chuck Nevitt (so yeah try to figure THIS one out).

Brandon Clarke seems like a bouncy Shane Battier.  Who would that be — Bobby Jones?

If the Grizzlies end up in the 6-8 range then I would think about trading down for two picks in the 15-20 range (at the very least).

It’s hard to find a comparison for him but to me, my comparison would be Caris Levert without injury issues. Remember Levert was in the top 10 big board before hurting and having issue with his ankle.

Yeah I agree with this, both are tall and skilled wings with great versatility. Kinda reminds me of Paul George too.

It’s hard to do these kind of comparisons well and these are well thought out. At first I thought Cam Johnson would be better compared to Laphonso Ellis, but I looked into it and Laphanso only shot a lot of 3’s the one season he scored 20 pts a game, other than he didn’t actually shoot a high volume of 3’s. Dale Ellis is a good comparison. Of course these are all going to be over-generous. That’s just how it works. It’s no fun to compare a 20th pick to the average 20th pick. But I do enjoy seeing comparisons to busts if you think someone might bust. I look at these comparisons not so much as an exact career arch match and comparison, but more of a player profile and skill set comparison. Most comparisons will all be ceilings. I think that has to be understood when analyzing a list.

Zion is still Harold Miner mixed with  Rodney Rogers for mine. They were great college players and lotto picks, and although they weren’t all star pro’s the comparison doesn’t mean I think Zion will fail. By rights, that combination is a freak of a player, but what it means as an NBA player, I still don’t know. I’ve never seen that combo before, and we’ve never seen a Zion before either.

Same goes for RJ Barrett. My comp is a combo of two lesser players, which makes a potentially very good NBA player – Mike Beasley & Rodney Hood mash up

I’ve been following your comparisons for a long time now.
I’ve just got one question though.
Do you really think that every single player will be a near all-star??
