     Even though the wizards have made no indications yet that Beal is available, it seems to be inevitable they are going to have to move him at some point in the near future. Wall is injured and may never be the same player again, and his contract is virtually untradeable at this point. There just isn’t a realistic path to contention with Beal on the roster, nor is there a path to bottoming and rebuilding from scratch (which is basically what is going to have to happen). In other words, it just doesn’t make sense to keep him around, even if he wants to stay.

    So given that the wizards are almost assuredly going to value cap space, young assets, and draft picks in any deal, which teams do you think will have the most incentive to trade for Beal and be able to put together the best collection of assets to land him once he inevitably becomes available? The two teams that I’d really consider to be the logical front runners would be the nets and the nuggets right now. Celtics, Mavs, hawks, thunder, pelicans are more dark horse destinations.

    Did the Wiz get a steal with Rui at #9? 

    Yes it’s only Fiba, but he looks like he’s ready to contribute immediately.

       Not saying hes as good but he plays alot like Kawhi. Especially his jumpshot. Has the same tendancies to shoot them flat as well. As long as he doesnt fall in love with that jumper and he takes advantage of his physical tools he should be fine. And if he is taking those jumpers hes gotta constantly remind himself to get arc. I think he will be a very good player.

      I begged the Hawks to take him instead of Hunter.

      His game translates so well – he’s strong with a fantastic, going to work his @SS off, and has a well rounded game.

         I like Hunter, but not at 4. Hunter looks stiff compared to Rui.

     I think Beal is putting himself in position for the supermax. I also think the Wizards will give it to him.

     I believe the Wiz need to go into full rebuild mode.  Wall is never going to be the same player after all of his injuries.  Beal is good but hes not a superstar that will carry them to a deep playoff run.  They should trade him for some young pieces to build around.  The Wiz are a disaster and its going to take many many years to undue all the terrible decisions and contracts given out by the font office.

     I don’t think it’s clear whether Beal would be a true "third superstar" on a contending team, the way Klay is on the Warriors or Ray Allen was on the Celts. Maybe he’s closer to just a "really good starter who can make an occasional all-star team."

    So if I were the Nuggets or the Nets, referring back to the OP, while I might consider Beal an upgrade as of right now over Gary Harris or LeVert, I wouldn’t want to trade much else besides Harris or LeVert to get Beal. Two or three years from now is Beal clearly better than Harris or LeVert? I don’t have any confidence in that.

     Bradley with two years left on his deal will likely have the highest trade value he’ll ever get for the Wizards unless he took that final step and became an All NBA 1sr or 2nd teamer.

    He will get a mega deal next time if his current form continues but would the Wizards really want over $80 million a year committed to their backcourt especially given Wall’s injury issues.

    The flip side is that without Beal and if they hit rebuild button what would the Wizards do with Wall ?

    If he returns to form and fitness he’d want to be on a relevant team and if he didn’t they’ve got an unmoveable contract.

    Moving Beal and Wall as a duo would be almost impossible given the level of their combined salaries and with Wall being injured.

    One interesting deal that did spring to mind for Beal was with the Raptors, they have Lowry, Marc Gasol and Ibaka all in the last year of their deals and if their season was treading water after losing Kawhi flipping one of these for Beal and some assets could make sense.
     

    Washington we assume hit rebuild they could buy out whoever they get back in the trade or flip them for another asset. Washington then tank towards next year’s draft and look to take BPA.

    The Raptors have Beal in situ for 2020-21 season and with their cap space can look to add one of next summer’s top FAs with the selling point of their recent success and Beal as a running mate. They are then in pole position to resign Beal in 2021 and they have a competitive team.

    If they have given up a few first rounders for Beal they would likely be none lottery so the loss wouldn’t be huge to them. But it would give Washington useful extra draft firepower and draft options whereby they can take a longer view on prospects than a contending team might.
