OhCanada-ParticipantI actually like the deal. Magic bring in an Allstar calibur player and move a player in a loaded position allowing Isaac to continue to grow. They can also compliment Derozan’s inside game by surrounding him with frontcourt players that can shoot Isaac, Vucevic, Bamba, Okeke.
Spurs have been rumored to be interested in moving Derozan and looking for young starter calibur player with upside. Turner has DPOY talent now with room for offensive growth and would fit well with their young nucleus.
Gordon gives the Pacers another scoring option that can impact the game from different areas than Oladipo and Malcolm Brogdon while clearing up their logjam at Center.
Dont see why Augistin would be included in the deal. He wouldnt add much value to the Spurs and is a huge part of the Magics lockeroom. Better off including someone else in that deal if they need to make salaries work.
A few things I think would need tweaking though. Derozan doesnt get too much respect and is labelled as a choker but losing him would leave a void i the Spurs offensive production. A huge void. So they would either need to have a 2nd move on deck to add some offense and playmaking or be ready to go straight into rebuild mode. Im not sure Augistin fills that void.
I personally think Turners defense is more impactful for Indiana than Sabonis however its a catch 22. Without Turner Indiana’s defense takes a huge loss and without Sabonis Indiana’s rebounding takes a huge loss.
Interesting trade idea though I must say.

Pg. Brogdon
Sg. Oladipo
Sf. Warren
Pf. Gordon
C. Sabonis Is a pretty young and exciting lineup

festar35ParticipantAs a Pacers fan, I would be happy with this deal.
Aaron Gordon can do a lot of the things that Thaddeus Young could do, but is younger & a more capable scorer in particular when it comes to shooting the 3-ball. Would be a really nice piece next to Sabonis.
I think Turner & Sabonis can be a serviceable starting duo, but they are both C’s in today’s game & not too mention we have Goga Bitadze waiting in the wings.

HitsterParticipantGood trade idea so +1 from me. It clears a positional logjam for the Magic and to a lesser extent for the Pacers.
DeRozan gives the Magic a proven scorer. Gordon gives the Pacers more scoring punch and frees up playing time for Sabonis and Bitadze. Myles Turner’s defensive game working under Pops and Tim Duncan could also go to the next level and he’d be alongside LMA too.
