Marko Guduric, Serbian SG, signs two years contract for Grizzlies. The deal is official, but they didn’t say for how much

Guduric is very good shooter with nice feel for the game. He can be a good piece for  rebuilding Grizzlies team

Grizzlies wont tank. They will shut it down when they are statistically eliminated but Memphis wont be a team that starts a season saying "lets rack up some losses this year". Even when they have a losing season they are a tough team to play every night and I appreciate that. I think this year they maybe a bit better than expected, maybe not Playoff’s good but they could be similar to the Kings last year.

As a Grizz fan I am not sure if I wanna keep our (top 6 protected) pick this year by tanking or get off the pick debt, convey to Boston, then get a 2021 first rounder as the last piece in a new rebuild.

I would hate to keep a pick at 5-6 in a draft where maybe there is not a super star there then risk losing out on a top 3 pick in 2021.

The important thing to remember is that one guy is not going to save them. They need an "all of the above" approach. Ja Morant and Jaren Jackson Jr. obviously need to develop into All-Star players, but they also need Brandon Clarke to prove he is an NBA player. Tyus Jones and Jonas Valanciunas have to be reliable contributors, and not alternating big game-no show players. In an ideal world, they get three of the five (or two in a more realistic context) from Guduric, Grayson Allen, the untradeable Dillon Brooks, Bruno and Josh Jackson take a job in the rotation for the long-term. If that happens, then everything becomes easier going forward with wherever future picks end up being. They will develop an identity that makes filling in around much easier. If Ja Morant ends up like DSJ or Elfrid Payton, if Jaren Jackson ends up more Jeff Green than Chris Bosh, if the fliers on Guduric, Allen, Brooks, Bruno, and Josh flop, then the top pick will not save them.
