Who would you rather have ?

Too early to tell, but all look to have a floor of being 12/10/2 type guys at worst. They could be anything. Hayes is just a wild thing. It’d be interesting to see what type of go to moves he develops and how his game changes over time cos he won’t be running like that later in his career.

While we are on the topic of young bigs, i have to mention I watched Naz Reid play for Minny in SL today and I think they got a steal. He can play. He is a grown man already at 19 too, a big body. He’s got an outside shot, moves his feet well and he passed the ball really well today. I also was impressed with Gafford from Chicago. He played with a lot of energy and is another one that probably could’ve been picked higher.

 Well I would take Allen because he’s already probably one of the top 10 Cs in the league with lots of room still to improve.

 I would also take Allen, as he already develop a tough, competitive mindset as a player, he should be the next dikembe mutombo

 Jaxson Hayes in the dunk contest would be nice.

I love that we’re seeing a new crop of true bigs in the league. 

 I would rank them Jarrett Allen, Mitchell Robinson, Jaxson Hayes

Jaxson Hayes has me really intrigued, but I’d probably go Mitchell Robinson right now. I think they’re all gonna be really solid, but Mitch looks like he’s got the most potential to me. Not sure if Allen has the same offensive upside

Then again I don’t know as much about these guys as a lot of you probably do so I could be very wrong

Maybe its the Knick bias but I would take Mitchell Robinson. He has proven at the NBA level that he is a top 5 rim protector. Putting up numbers in Summer League is cool but doing it during the regular season is something different. Mitchell also has improved his body and looks much stronger (blocking Zion). Jaxson Hayes is interesting because hes very young and looks to be a fast learner. Jarrett is a versatile big but he hasnt developed his body at all and his matchup against Embiid exposed his frailty in the post. All are promising but again MRob has shown All NBA Defensive potential in limited minutes against NBA competition.

 This an extremely tough one. Great post. They are all so good. Cant decide.

Give me Jaxon Hayes. He imo has the most upside as an offensive player and shot well from the free throw line at Texas. He’s already shown he can hit jumpers in the summer league which he didn’t at Texas. I think all three will be at least quality starters for their respective teams. 

 Interesting question with Allen being two years into his NBA career, Robinson a year and Hayes just starting out on his. If I had to pick one at the moment I’d go with Robinson as his NBA appearances show he may just have a bit more upside than Allen and Allen could be competing with DeAndre Jordan for major minutes.

Hayes will be bought along slowly and won’t have the spotlight on him despite being the highest drafted of the 3. He’ll probably need to develop his shooting range as NOP move forward but should develop into a decent NBA big.

 I agree I have loved what I have seen in Hayes, he is athletic, long, and shows he should be able to develop an offensive game. His mobility on D reminds me of Gobert but he shows more potential on offense.
