    OKC trades Jerami Grant to the Nuggets for a 2020 1st round pick.

    OKC keeps stacking 1st rounders and Denver keeps stacking a nice young core.

    The Thunder now are officially retooling with this move. Been already thin at the forward spots and while Gallo just had his best year and it shouldn’t be forgottenhe was the leading scorer of last years surprise playoff team, he probably won’t play more then 70 games if at all.

    Sad to see Jerami go and I‘m convinced now the Russ deal is inevitable now since they just gifted the strongest devision rival a borderline starting PF who is going to enter his prime now for a pick in the late 20s next summer if there are no protections to it.

    One trade I want haven’t seen discussed regarding Russ is a trade to the Bulls. The Miami trade is complicated for several reasons and one part of the PG trade have been the Miami picks and it wouldn’t help the Thunder if they help build a powerhouse there.

    What about a trade that brings Russ to the Bulls for Otto Porter (and his remaining two years) and Lauri Markkanen? It works salary wise and feel free to add any players and/or picks in both ways. I really like Lauri and think he is a future All star and see him as the main piece here in this proposal. None of the Heat, Rockets or Pistons players work roster wise for the Thunder and this is the only trade scenario I think could work both ways.

      Chicago’s ownership is notoriously cheap. I don’t know if they’d be willing to take on one of the biggest/worst long-term contracts in the league. If they did, now way they’d include Markannen in the deal…he’s their #1 priority as a building block. They could maybe get Otto, Dunn, and a pick but not Lauri. Plus they just spent a mid lottery pick and their free agent $ bringing in 2 new PG’s in Coby and Satoransky. Russ doesn’t fit the age timetable or direction of this team.

    I still think Minnesota is a chance for Russ, along with Toronto.

    Pelicans would be interesting. Just imagine Russ going downhill with Zion every play, both always going at the rim with shooters around. They’ve just made so many moves, I can’t see this, but they have the pieces to get a deal done.

       Toronto has a ton of cap space next year. Its a very realistic option but I dont think Ujiri is gonna trade away Lowry no matter what. 

      Maybe a trade like (one of) Ibaka or Gasol, Powell and Anunoby and then draft picks.

         3-4 unprotected1st and reall don’t see Russell as an efficient SG type

     Decent deal for the Thunder as it clears cap space and gives Presti another pick. Gallo can fill a lot of Grant’s minutes but his durability is an issue. The Thunder getting a first rounder even if it will likely be in 20-30 range and saving $19 million in cap space over two years plus luxury tax is a no brainer for them.

    Denever get a solid piece and look to contend again.
