Zion is being heald out of summer league after getting a bruise to the left knee. Hopefully it’s precautionary and NO is not reporting anything more serious.

Has any other college program suffered more injuries to their star players than Duke?

Zion blowing out his shoe vs UNC, missed 3 weeks.

Kyrie was lighting up college basketball before injuring his toe 8 games in. Playing in his 1st NBA finals with Lebron and the Cavs, injurs his knee in game 1 after going head to head against Curry.

Harry Giles commits to Duke after recovering from 1 acl, then follows up with tearing the other knee prior to his senior year in high school.

    Brandon Ingram blood clots.

    Jabari Parker 2 ACLs.

Jay Williams, the motorcyle accident that ended his career.

Bobby Hurley with the car accident that almost killed him.

Grant Hill with the ankle injury he was playing on while with the Pistions. Pretty much ended his run as the Next Greatest player.

There are countless other Duke injuries that have happered NBA careers as well as Duke NCAA Championship runs.

I’m just hoping Zion stays healthy so we can see the best version of him.

He needs to lose 20lbs ASAP.  Not enough touch in his game. You saw what went down in a summer league game.  His shot got blocked, his lobs were boxed out, guys were playing him physical.  He lasted 15 minutes playing that way. I am a Sixers fan and watching Embiid tumble around the court is nothing compared to what I saw last night

Just being cautious. They already got everyone down to Vegas to see Zion’s debut and now hopefully buy more tickets.

I’ve been saying for a while now that I worry about his long term health. It’s not a good look when you’re this young and look out of shape and get hurt in your first game after ending your college career hurt.

Go back and look at some of the NBA biggest players, LeBron, Shaq, Karl Malone, etc., when they were 19 years old.

Then ask yourself what Zion is going to look like at 26-28 if he follows a path that is even remotely similar in mass gain to those guys.

    I guess we’ll see.

Zion didnt end his college career hurt. He came back and dominated the ACC Tournment and played very well in the NCAA tournament.

I’d say he needs to lose like 40-50 lbs because he’s too big for either PF or C, and would be more ideal if he was only 240 or 230, but 260 wouldn’t be too bad. He’s more of a Center anyways but too small for that spot, still to small for PF but it is still feasible. 260 would work more for Center but lose 20 lbs is a good starting point. Just start him on an NBA diet plan, and maybe this cautios injury would be a good head start.
