Andv1 WaitingParticipantGood old P.G. Thanks for the memories guy, at least you got us something in return unlike K.D lol.
Thanks Presti for not letting this drag out ala Kawhi and A.D saga’s
But in all honesty where are we going from here now? Are we re-tooling or Rebuilding now?
So I guess the question for everyone is this if you were Presti: Do you hit Full reset and build around Shai and Steven Adams who’s a fan favourite and young enough to still be ok when rebuild is done or Do you try trade any assets we have to gain another star player back: Like a Bradley beal,Kevin Love etc then hit re-tool?

IndianaBasketballParticipantI think it all depends on Russ. If he wants out, then you go into full rebuild.
If he wants to stay, I think you try to add another star.

r377ParticipantAdd another star – so they can get another first round knock out.
No one wants to play with Padbrook – guy is a cancer

SubZeroParticipantImagine if KD ever played with Russ. No way a team with Russ can ever get past the 1st round

Andv1 WaitingParticipantWho do you think they could trade for though that is a Star player?

The GoatParticipantNo, save $170 mil by trading. Trade Russ for Lowry, OG and some picks, blow it up. Lowry’s $34 mil comes off the books after one season. The Raps would have to strongly consider this, they could build around Russ and Siakam.

xJumpManxParticipantWow, that is a lot of money for PG who chokes most the time in big situations. I still laugh at him needing to go to the locker room to clear his head against the Cavs.

r377ParticipantDid i read they get SGA and 5 first rounders ?
Marc Stein: OKC acquired THREE unprotected first-round picks from the Clippers in this trade (2022, 2024 and 2026), league sources say, PLUS two firsts from Miami (2021 unprotected and 2023 protected 1-to-14) … AND the right to swap picks with the Clips in 2023 and 2025. Staggering0-

Andv1 WaitingParticipantAs mentioned by user XYR. Yes essentially 7 picks/8 picks as SGA is very young lol + Gallonari.
The picks have potential to be high picks but are relient on a) the heat not getting anyone to join Butler or injuries to players. Resulting in high picks..
and
B) That the clippers will either be average or not stay healthy…But the catch is more their later picks(2023/2025 pick swaps) Where P.G and Kawhi will be at the tail end of their career.Meaning if we are ok by then we could also have some high picks to go with our talented players that are acquired..
Our worst case scenario for the Draft picks is that they are low firsts vs them being low teens(13-17 range)/1-10 range…But I guess at least they can be packaged at very worst and help us either any of the following: get higher picks, move bad deals(R.W in couple of years) or to acquire as much young good talent as possible..

XYRYXParticipantI‘m still stunned. Firstly I really again lost some respect for Kawhi and I like to explain this. I really like that he chose the Clips over the Lakers who are a mess and this is as clear as it could get. BUT after KL held the Spurs hostage for one full season, he garnered some of mine respect again after what he accomplished in Toronto which was kind of unseen before, big probs for this amazing run and now he again held not one but two teams kind of hostage. He told the Clips he only comes when they trade for a player who has 2 full more years left on his contract. So the Thunder were told by PG he wants a trade and really have no other choice to do so and the Clips have no other choice to to this trade if they want to sign KL. Presti obviously demanded a lot and the Clips had no choice to give Presti what he wants.
All in all this might have been the only way for the Thunder to get out of this repeater tax area without sending away Adams to the Mavs or Hawks for peanuts but I really hate to see that players have so much power even if we already knew this but it still sucks that the big names can do what they want and the teams have no choice.
I‘m not so sure Russ wants to play on this team anymore but honestly make me one team who would trade for him AND could send back a decent package of picks and young talent? Boston is not an option anymore with Kemba on board.

Andv1 WaitingParticipantThink of it this way maybe.
Clippers wanted a player that had specific terms for them to get in the conversation as he wasn’t coming otherwise: Which was get me another Superstar. besides K.D,Butler and Kyrie there weren’t may players exactly to be persuaded to come to L.A so this is what they had to do which was trading for one. P.G isn’t exactly blameless either as it was possible that they both wanted to move(See p.g mention earlier in the season that he had talked to Kawhi). As reports have leaked saying he also wanted to be traded to LAC…
This was the price the Clippers were prepared to pay for him…
Apparently we are still a bit in the red so may not have gotten out of repeater tax..
Give P.G one thing though he wanted L.A and at least got us something back vs K.D who was a poster boy for OKC and apparently even said he wanted to come back(apparently) then left us high and dry with no return at all with no chance to retool at all…
Will Russell want to be moved now hard to say as it depends on how prideful he is will he go full MVP season mode/team loyal or does he want a ring badly so he will welcome a trade…
