Wow Woj reporting Kawhi recruited PG to find a way to the Clippers.  As a result he went to management and requested a trade.

Paul George apparently traded for a record setting amount of draft picks.

4 unprotected 1sts, 1 protected first, and 2 pick swaps.  Gallo and SGA also in the deal.

Insane haul, I guess OKC officially in rebuild mode. I doubt Westbrook will like that, wouldn’t be surprised if he doesn’t request a trade too now.

Padbrook would be loving it – think how many triple doubles he can get now….

Wow! Great move Kawhi. I was thinking Presti had been awfully quiet!! I haven’t seen the full details yet but I understand it’s 4 unprotected 1sts, Gallinari and more.

If the Clips end game team is PatBev, LouWill, PG, Klaw and Trez, that is a smokin’ lineup, crazy defense and buckets everywhere.

It will be pretty good, but Lou Williams will probably just stick to the side of the court he shoots from.

SGA to Thunder too, and apparently PG demanded OKC trade him after getting a call from the Klaw!

the fact SGA got traded reminded me of this article

I just read this a few hours ago, I wonder if this was a bit of a bait for the thunder, probably not but the timing is really interesting

Apparently Presti trying to trade Westbrook as well, they going straight into rebuild mode over night.

Well who wouldn’t? You have Russ and Adams left you might as well ship Russ out to a contender and get some picks and young pieces. Sacrifice 4 years for maybe 10/15 years of done right

Now where can Russ and Adams go?

Surely there are a few teams that will be on the phones right now. Westbrook must be pissed, I can imagine he’s in his house in a fit of rage, trashing the place

Adams is only 25, not even in his prime yet. I think keeping him as part of the rebuild would be smart plus he’s a fan favorite.

Wow what a turn of events and what a stunner that PG is joining him there.

I was thinking and thinking for days now how OKC could dangle Adams in a trade and found no solution for this and never expected PG to be this mean after his best season so far and all the talk he wanted to be in OKC. Still can’t believe it PG is gone and while the Thunder were short on draft picks recently, they now have this collection from the Clippers which is good form them but still many questions regarding this roster.

Is this a full rebuild now since the roster is still very unbalanced and how does SGA fit or is Westbrook also gone now and what happens with Schröder? Can’t believe it

If they are blowing it up, maybe they could send Russ to Toronto for Kyle or Gasol, to save long term money? Imagine Toronto starts moving others now too, builds around Siakam.

I wonder if pop would back himself  to transform Russ into a team first point guard, they have some young talent that’s would appeal to a rebuilding team

I also got negged heavily a few days ago on the Kawhi Resigning thread for saying the Clippers and that he’d announce today, so that’s ok.
The Raptors are over the cap without Kawhi. There’s no point keeping Gasol on a 25.6mil expiring deal and they will be better off moving Lowry now too. I’m sure Ujiri will find the right deals.

I respect the hell out of Kawhi for preferring to go to an LA team that has zero history in terms of championships. He and PG can build something special there.

I think it’s clearly time now for OKC to move on from Westbrook. They lost in the first round 3 years in a row, they got back a promising young point in the trade, they’ve been in the luxury tax, his knees aren’t getting any younger, Billy Donovan and him are a bad fit together.

I can only think of 1 team that makes a lot of sense for him as a suitor. Miami. They want another star to put next to Jimmy Butler, they have big expiring contracts necessary to match salary, and the coach/front office structure that can handle his personality/ego/whatever you want to call it. They also have Jimmy Butler, Bam, and James ‘black belt’ Johnson who won’t take any shit either

No way Padbrook and Jimmy Butler work sharing the spotlight – that would end in tears for Miami

If Atlanta has any ambition, it should make the move. In the West, Westbrook was a first round out. In this East…

They have the expirings with Trey Young to make it work for Westbrook and Gallinari. They would still have Hunter, Reddish, Huerter and Collins.

Love it, Kawhi to Lakers would have killed the NBA again. Now there is no clear favorite. Sad for Raptors but they are city of champions and it was worth it. Would they go for rebuild now?

As Mavs fan I would love to get Gallo from OKC , but we have no picks to give

How many of you fell asleep & woke up to all of this like, “WTF?!”

I was at a loss for words for at least 5 mins. Craziest off-season ever. Nobody saw this coming, which is strange. You usually hear at least something.

Why did PG request a trade? Was he unhappy with Russ? Coaching? He had a chance to go to the Lakers last summer, but stuck in OKC. Maybe he really didn’t want to play with LBJ?

Kawhi really is a boss. Even though everybody said it was between TOR & LAL, I knew deep down kawhi was too much of an alpha to get on LeBron’s ship. Mad respect to him.

Apart from Davis, no stars are lining up to play with LeBron. And why would they? Every single star playing with him has had to sacrifice their natural game. Kawhi gets to make his own legacy.

Damn. I’m sure all the teams that signed point guards this off season are probably a little annoyed. Cause Westbrook probably could be had now. Phoenix could’ve inquired, instead of Rubio. Boston could’ve inquired instead of Kemba. Knicks, Pacers instead of brogdon. The bulls could’ve traded Dunn and Colby white. ( which I guess is stil possible) . The Lakers could’ve tried something possibly . It’ll be interesting to see if they move him now

The Clippers have a pair of franchise players but are they better than other star pairngs out West or East. But they do have a poven winner in Kawhi and a good supporting cast already in place. They have given up a huge amount of future picks to get PG13 and some of these could well be when neither PG13 or Kawhi are still on the roster.

But it’s probably a risk worth taking and in the future if neither are there they will still have cap space so can land other FAs and rebuild.

The Thunder have got a good return and I think if Westbrook is happy to stay there they play out this coming season with Gallinari, SGA and Adams supporting Westbrook. They can get a good deal if Westbrook does want out as he is tied down for another 3 guaranteed seasons I think. Plus with all those picks due, don’t rule out Presti looking to get him another top running mate via a trade.

The Raptors are losers but I think they just play out next season and if they aren’t in contention then see what offers are there next spring for Gasol, Ibaka and Lowry or buy some of them out so they can get a good lottery pick.

They will have huge cap space next summer so can chase FA’s then or go into rebuild and do it via draft and take on the bad contracts for picks and have a few lottery trips.

They have their title, there will be no stars on the team who want them to be competitive so come 2020 they have a clean slate.
