    Do you guys think he’s a good fit in Boston? I hope he leaves CHA, too good of a player and teammate to be playing for that crap of an organzation. He should be playing in the playoffs every year. I think he plays we’ll with Boston..

     Kemba Walker’s humble approach to the game would make him a great fit in Boston. I’m sure he’d thoroughly appreciate having reliable teammates on the offensive end. Kemba also can play without the ball unlike Kyrie who loves to dribble.

       CHA would pass on ALL of those guys..If you’re not a college star (multiple years) CHA won’t draft you…

        No, they have just been bad at drafting. Malik Monk? Noah Vonleh? Bismack Biyombo? They have been missing on many different types.

          Also Cody Zeller, Adam Morrison, Sean May, MKG, and I’m undoubtedly missing some. Kemba Walker and Raymond Felton may be the only good draft selections they’ve had since the Bobcats were created. It’s pretty bad. Hopefully for Hornets fans they learn to turn it around otherwise the Hornets will continue to be a middling team.

            Poor player development certainly has to be part of their problem. Even perennial losers have had better luck with players they’ve drafted developing into good players. The Hornets should do themselves a favor and hire the highest level Spurs player development personnel  and scouts they can. It’s certainly worth a try as their track record is awful.

    To be honest I’m not really sure this is the direction the Celtics should be looking with their cap space. Kemba is an outstanding player who could probably come close to filling kyries production without the off the court drama. But kemba is essentially a very similar player to kyrie. I’m just not sure that another ball dominant pg is what they really need moving forward. I think they need to build their team around Tatum and brown and having a guy at the point who dominates the ball has the potential to stifle their development. Both have been significantly more effective without kyrie on the floor the past 2 seasons. 

    Imo, horford will be far more difficult to replace than kyrie for the Celtics. When they were playing well and winning over the past 3 seasons it was horford who was the catalyst more than kyrie. His versatility on offense and defense was really the key to making things work. Imo they should be looking for undervalued role players who can at least approximate what he brought to the floor. Granted, they won’t be able to find that in one player, and probably won’t be able to replace him but that’s probably the direction I would look. Bigs who can space the floor and defend. I think someone like brook lopez would make a lot of sense. Possibly vucevic if they can get him at something of a bargain price. Spread the playmaking responsibilities around Hayward, Tatum, brown, smart. Maybe look at someone like Patrick Beverly. 

    Nothing against walker but I just kind of think there are smarter options for them . Could be wrong though.

      Vucevic is not available at a bargain price. Frankly, neither will Patrick Beverley. 

      The problem with your Kyrie and Kemba comparison is that Kyrie had options around him, and he was unwilling to adjust his game for the best of the team. Kemba’s supporting cast has been hollowed out. A few years ago when they won 48 games, Kemba had no qualms sharing the ball, and Charlotte had a reasonably balanced attack.

        Not saying they are exactly the same but they are similar players. Both need the ball in their hands to be effective, volume scorers, neither are very good defensively (kyrie is better on d than kemba). Horford was a major reason that IT was so effective in Boston with his ability to space the floor and cover for his deficiencies on defense. He won’t be around next season.

        I just look at Boston’s roster right now and I see a plethora of talented wings who can score, handle the ball and make plays and virtually no frontcourt depth. If they sign kemba to the full max, it’s going to be extremely difficult to fill out their front court next year with only vet min deals. Kemba would no doubt be a splashy signing who would be billed as kyries replacement, and I have no doubt he would play well in Boston. I’m not sure it would be the most prudent decision for them. Even looking at someone like Malcolm brogdon, who wouldnt come cheap but would be significantly less than kemba might be worth it (although that could be dicey with his restricted status).

          I would wait until next month to assess. Boston still has the Memphis pick to facilitate moves. The pick will probably never be as valuable as it will be this summer. It is top 6 protected in 2020 and unprotected in 2021, so it gives the allure of a possible number 1 pick with the reality of it probably ending up between 7-10.

            And the big that might come to Boston is Capela as Celtics want in on the Gordon, Tucker, Capela for Jimmy Butler deal.

            Sixers don’t need a starting C and the Celtics do.

              The 76ers should stay outta any Jimmy sign and trade talk IMO, dare him to sign elsewhere and offer the Max to Russell and Harris

                It would be nuts for the 76ers to redirect Clint Capela to the Celtics in a sign and trade unless the Celtics lost their senses and offered Tatum or Brown.

                 Depending on how the off season progresses I could imagine the Sixers doing a sign and trade for Eric Gordon and PJ Tucker.  Those are the only players the Rockets would be willing to deal that would interest the Sixers.

    I think Kemba is a good fit with Boston. He’ll give you 90-95% of what a healthy Kyrie will, without all the distraction & moodiness. Stevens is a very effective coach with shoot first point guards (Isaiah Thomas, Rozier, Kyrie).

    I’m still holding out hope that Kemba will go to Dallas. Adding Kemba to Doncic & Porzingis IMO puts them on a 50-win trajectory as soon as next year. With a higher ceiling.

    If Kemba does leave (which he should) Charlotte will be kicking themselves for not trading him at the deadline, having missed the playoffs & getting such a late lottery pick in this month’s draft. 

    My advice; tear it down, sell what player you can that are on bad contracts (Zeller, MKG, Batum, Biyombo) for whatever you can get that provides cap relief & no 1st rd draft picks attached. Difficult, I know……. but this is the route they need to take. The NBA has changed. You can still have fan support during a rebuild if your transparent & compentent in your decision process.

     Danny Ainge always seems to come up trumps and landing Kemba is a great move for Boston and keeps them relevant for next season.

      I don’t. Kemba’s approaching 30 and kyrie is 27. Kyrie will be closer to his prime throughout his deal. Despite his struggles in the playoffs this year, kyrie is also more playoff tested and just flat out better when at his best imo. Plus I still think he has more room to improve, whereas kemba has likely peaked. Plus I feel he’s more likely to bring another star to Brooklyn with him.

    Kyrie to Nets and Kemba to the Celtics seems an ideal pairing to me. Kyrie at the Celtics didn’t quite work for whatever reason and Kyrie wants a fresh start. Kemba has had nearly a decade carrying the Hornets and now wants to be on a contending team. I think Kemba will bring the best out of Brown and Tatum too.
