Striver347ParticipantGriffin strikes AGAIN. ATL has the 4th overall pick and the Pelicans get absurd value for AD as they get the 8, 17, and 35 pick in this draft.
These trades are why I never make “final mock drafts”. Things shift so quickly, I love it!

ZouldiersParticipantGriffin is on fire with these trades man my goodness. He did more in a week than Dell Demps did in his tenure

HitsterParticipantThe Hawks still keep the 10th pick so they haven’t given up that much. That means that Garland likely doesn’t go 4th as I cannot see them taking him if they have Young.
NOP can have nice options at 8 to take a swingman or combo forward and I’d guess they’d target a big at 17.

SwatLakeCityParticipantRight, I think Garland goes 5th, 6th or 7th. More likely 6th or 7th. Can’t imagine Garland and Sexton working out in Cleveland unless they want to do something similar to what the Blazers have in Damian and CJ.

ZouldiersParticipantMinnesota has traded the 11th pick and Dario Saric for the 6th pick. Damn come on.

I’ve been making mock drafts for years but man it was never this crazy minutes before the draft wow.

The GoatParticipantWow excellent all round
Wolves will get Garland
Phoenix get Saric for dropping back 5 spots – Booker Jackson Saric Ayton — still need a PG, nothing cooking at 11 so lets see if theres more news..
New Orleans can now realistically land Reddish at 8, Bol at 17 and Jalen Lecque at 35 — Ball Lecque Holiday Ingram Reddish Williamson Bol Okafor — yikes in 3 years !!
Atlanta I think have promised Claxton at 10 and landed their guy in Hunter at 4 –
Young Huerter Hunter Claxton Collins

OhCanada-ParticipantWhy would Phoenix do this? They always make bad draft day trades. Just make your picks.

mamadouParticipantI read Brandon Clarke at 11…
They weren’t that high on White(combo anyway) or they thought Garland would go 4-5.
PF spot set with these 2 guys, they’ll take an anymous PG in free agency and resign Oubré i guess.

The GoatParticipantSaric is better than anyone they’ll get at 6 and they keep 11. It’s a no brainer.

OhCanada-ParticipantThought they would move up but I thought the trade was with Cleveland. I think they are targetting Culver and at 10 will pick Hayes, Fernando, Kabangele or Claxton.
As for the Pelicans I think the pick at 8 is Reddish and at 17 is best player available. 17 is a nice spot for this draft to scoop up whoever falls.

SwatLakeCityParticipantOkay, so the lottery order is now
- Pelicans
- Grizzlies
- Knicks
- Hawks (from Pelicans, via Lakers)
- Cavs
- Wolves (from Suns)
- Bulls
- Pelicans (from Hawks)
- Wizards
- Hawks (from Mavs)
- Suns (from Wolves)
- Hornets
- Heat
- Celtics (from Kings)
Dario Saric and the 11th to the Suns makes sense since they just dealt the 32nd and Warren to the Pacers for cash. They were targeting Grant Williams with the 32nd pick, now it will be Dario Saric. And I guess with the 11th pick they will probably take NAW since both White and Garland will surely be gone by then. Don’t know why they decided to trade down that much, I guess they really like NAW.

Arc12345ParticipantCome on Atlanta – you just gave up three solid picks for number 4? That’s a lot to give up in any draft – but in this one in particular? Give me a break. Hunter is a solid player but he screams role player to me at the next level.
This is pretty disappointing. I guess they’ll reach for Claxton at 10 as well? So much for nailing this draft…
Pelicans just crushed the Hawks in this deal.

OhCanada-ParticipantI’ve never seen you happy with an Atlanta Hawks trade.

Arc12345ParticipantWhen’s the last one we made that went well? I mean seriously – I know people on here think last year’s trade was solid but that’s bull$hit. Dallas were major winners.
In this trade, you essentially give up 8, 17, 35 all for the number 4 pick?!? Deandre Hunter better be damn near Kawhi Leonard for that kind of value.
It’s just frustrating to me because we’ve all said so many times that 4-20 is really a crap shoot in this draft in particular. So it’s mind boggling to me that you’d give up so much in a draft with so many uncertainties and disagreement about prospects.

OhCanada-ParticipantWell we talked about it before.
https://staging.nbadraft.net/forum/atlanta-hawks-2019-draft-approach
I think its hard to integrate a bunch of rookies into your system. Especially when your only role models are second and third year players. So instead of bringing in three they bunched those picks to bring in one and the highest on their board. This way all their time and resources can go to one prospect instead of three. Not including the 10th pick of course.
And yes I agree they shouldve been able to get something better done but I think doing this is better than just picking.

Arc12345ParticipantI get it…you don’t want to have a ton of rookies…fine. Clearly the Pelicans don’t feel the same way – but fine.
But you have to get more than the number 4 pick for 8, 17, and 35. You have to. Especially in THIS draft.

Arc12345ParticipantI’m sure you think the Hawks robbed Dallas when they traded Doncic away too.
Please give us your reasons why you think Hunter is worth trading away 8, 17, and 35.

chrsw003ParticipantYa bc Tre is such bad pick. Fuck outta here. They switched 8 to 4 so then they gave up 17 and 35. Then at 10 they got the guy we wanted at 8 if stayed there. And got back to 34 and got Fernando who would of been an option at 17. And Tre makes everyone elses transition way easier since they can just play off him. Tre makes everyone around him better. How can you not like what Schlenk done last couple years?? Foh buddy

Arc12345ParticipantIf you don’t think Dallas is in better spot than us with Doncic and Porzingis then you really don’t know $hit about basketball…
I’ll take those two players on Dallas over anyone on the Hawks roster.

OhCanada-ParticipantHayes should be in play at with Washington and Charlotte as well. I dont get the hype personally. He seems like a good player, might end up being Clint Capela but I like Claxton, Fernando and Kabangele more.

The GoatParticipantHayes should be going to Miami. Whiteside is on the way out, Bam can start and Hayes takes the bench role.

Andv1 WaitingParticipantHawks got a nice piece to be their SF of the future with their core of Trae,John,Hueter..Then Stole Reddish at 10 they had a solid draft all round..Reddish gets time to come back from injury properly as Hunter gets to show his game and Bazemore should be off the books when Reddish is back and then they can play it out for the starting spot between Hunter,Huter and Reddish with the loser becoming the 6th man or role player on this team…
Kind of thought the Pelicans would take the Hawks player that was picked at 4 as he has a nice skill set and is insurance if Ingram is done due to health issues, but it made sense. Get more cap room, Fill a need by taking the center at 8. I was kind of surprised that they didn’t take Reddish at 8 though. But I guess they didn’t want to wait for him to get 100%.
