Andrew1984ParticipantWho do you see as potential steals this year? I’ll define it as players that you would take higher than they will probably go.
Last year mine were:
Michael Porter Jr. (hmm)
Landry Shamet (yay)
Omari Spelman (eh)The year before:
Luke Kennard (oops)
John Collins (yay)
Jarrett Allen (yay)
Semi Ojeleye (eh)This year I submit:
Sekou Doumbaya
Nickeil Alexander-Walker
Cameron Johnson0 -

ChrispyParticipantLuka Samanic-Looked awesome at the combine. If he can keep his motor high, could be a legit player for a long time.
Jalen Mcdaniels-Swiss army knife in the 2nd round
Jordan Bone- Can be a lock down defender and change of pace back-up guard.

celtics1982ParticipantOkeke, Nowell, Johnson, Ponds and Bol. I’d also add Dort if he really goes late second round.
It’s going to be an epic draft for steals and make a lot of GMs look stupid. You can’t just say well I took the best guy. A GM has to actually be able to scout and find those guys this year in a huge group that are all ranked very closely.

OhCanada-ParticipantThis draft is alot deeper than people think. The fact that KZ Okpala might go in the 20’s, Romeo Laangford could become a 1st option, Brunoi Fernando could be a teams defensive achor. Its hard to tell before the draft who could be a steal though because it depends on who goes where and how high they got picked.

Memphis MadnessParticipant^^^
Yep.
This draft is super-deep.
I have Ja at 1. I have Zion lower on my big board than probably any big board/mock draft in the known/unknown universe.
2-20ish could go in any order.
A bunch of solid second round types too.
There were some guys I liked that I pretty much left out. Although my mock ACTUALLY had two players at 46.

Memphis MadnessParticipantJa could be a steal at 2.
Could be the best 2nd pick since KD.

sweaterflexParticipantVersus current projected slot, I’d say biggest sleepers are:
1. Shamorie Ponds- very confident he is at least a Van Vleet hound off the bench, real starter upside. Performed best in his biggest games.
2. Chuma Okeke- assuming he’s healthy, very heady defender who plays within himself. Likely role player on a winning team for a long time.
3. Jontay Porter- could very well be injured his who career, but centers who can pass, shoot, and block shots are rare commodities. Could be Al Horford-lite.
4. Grant Williams- team system held him back from showing all his skills. Good shooting touch, good passer, and can make difficult shots.
5. Nic Claxton- will kill it on the short roll in the pros, could block shots like Mitchell Robinson and pass on the short roll like Mason Plumlee.
6. Zach Norvell- is the player that people think Keldon Johnson is. Can really shoot it, good shot selection, good enough athleticism to stick.
7. Sagaba Konate- 3 point shooting shotblockers are always useful, particularly with the draft slot you can nab him with.
8. Dedric Lawson- extremely high bball IQ, good passer, long wingspan, he’ll either shoot well enough to play the 4 or be a solid small ball 5.
9. Jaylen Nowell- solid all around player, surprisingly under the radar. Teams with wing initiators like Philly and Dallas should really target Nowell and players like him.
10. Bol Bol- while he may completely bust half the time, he also has a real shot as the second best player in this draft. The risk is worth it from the 5th pick onward, a lot of these lotto guys are uninspiring.
