Joe Johnson Trade: Hope for Bulls to move Boozer?

Ever since the Joe Johnson trade was agreed to in principle, I don’t ever think I have read or heard the word ALBATROSS as much as I have now…which leads me to the question: is there hope for the Bulls to possibly find a trade partner for Carlos Boozer?

Kevin Willard (NR): Narrowly missed coaching Seton Hall into the NCAA Tournament last winter. Now he has to keep the momentum after losing most of his starting lineup. Can anyone play point guard?

Whether they want them or not, however, they’re coming. This is a starting lineup likely to feature Jameer Nelson, Arron Afflalo, Hedo Turkoglu, Glen Davis, and Gustavo Ayon, with the top bench players being JJ Redick, Quentin Richardson, and Al Harrington. There are some vets on this team that have played in the postseason before, but without Dwight Howard and Ryan Anderson—easily the team’s two best players last year—they look headed for the lottery.

Despite all of the personnel changes shooting guard Lou Williams, the Hawks’ marquee free agent signing this past summer, believes the team isn’t in rebuild mode, but sort of a transitional restructuring period in the first year of general manager Danny Ferry’s tenure.

“I mean, I’ve always felt I’ve been one of the leaders of the team,” Horford said. “And this year it’s no different for me, I guess you can say. Josh (Smith), myself, Zaza find ourselves where we’re in a position where we are the older guys. The other guys talk about who’s playing, who’s doing what. We can definitely can relate to that, especially some of the veterans who came from other teams but yeah you can say that.”

When Howard was traded to the Lakers in August, O’Neal analyzed the situation this way: “You have to care to have a reaction. I’ve got businesses to run. I always tell people that in order to step in my shoes, you have big shoes to fill. For him, he’s going to have to at least win three to get people’s respect.”sgf434

That seemed to be the concern among most fans, and they can stop worrying. His conditioning is no longer an issue.bvsaf3

It’s too early to tell how good Waiters will be right away, but here’s what we think we know: He’s a streaky shooter from the perimeter, he can get to the basket practically at will, and as coach Byron Scott said, “he can go over the top” of defenders once there. Overall, he’s looking pretty good.mnfngtrf

Again, it’s early, but that is the way it’s looking. Samuels and Leuer are both expected to back up second-year man Tristan Thompson at power forward. Samuels is more of an inside threat, Leuer is a big man who’s effective from the perimeter. So it’s a safe bet Scott will play each according to matchups.vafae3223

As for Leuer, Scott said, “He definitely has 3-point range, much more athletic than people think he is, and he’s a tough kid.”vfsdgf

Pargo is a bit of a good-natured prankster and just generally fun to be around. But his coach is a fan because of the way Pargo pushes the ball in practice.fsfg4er2323

With Leuer and Pargo seemingly shoe-ins, potential candidates to be released now include camp invitees Justin Holiday and Kevin Anderson, undrafted free agents Kevin Jones and Michael Eric, trade-day acquisition Kelenna Azubuike, returning forward Luke Harangody and Sloan.gfdsfgsf

Then again, Scott has already said it’s possible the Cavs keep both Pargo and Sloan, and Harangody just accepted the team’s qualifying offer over the summer. So keep in mind, all the names mentioned are pure speculation. And a few of them will make it.hgfdg34324
