valentine
I think honestly the Toronto Raptors and the Phoenix Suns are the gatekeepers to this draft
Phoenix. Stoudemire could get you a top 10 pick in this draft. He was almost a Grizzlie earlier and the deal didnt go through so if Memphis gets a top 10 or Top 5 pick..I wouldnt be surprised if The Suns call offering up Stoudemire for some players and that pick. Nash is probably the best PG available for trade. With rumors of the Suns taking Flynn if he falls, If they really want to blow up the team, Trade Nash and try to get some value.
Toronto- Bosh. That’s it. If Toronto wants to get some more talent and players and picks…Bosh is way. I think at least 4 to 7 teams would try to get him. ( Chicago, New Orleans, Golden State, Detroit and Milwaukee are probably front-runners)
Agree? disagree? Also read my mock-draft post i updated it

d-grizzlyParticipantthe grizzlies denied them twice if i remember right. The suns ask too much from the grizz. There’s just not enough the grizz can trade off…and if they did..they’d be worse than they are now. I say let phoenix crash. It’s natural. they’ve been up there for awhile now, it’s just inevitable to end up in the bottom for awhile. So I hope the grizz won’t pull any moves that would damage the talent they have already.
I completely agree with bosh, alotta teams are gonna go after him now.
good post!

mb6297I don’t think Toronto is willing to trade Chris Bosh. He is their franchise player and they are trying to build around him.
Not too sure what the Suns will do, but they obviously have to make some changes. I think Amare will be gone, but Steve Nash will stay. If they get rid of those two, it would completely change the team. Although Shaq had a decent season, I think acquiring him was a huge mistake. I’m not that big on Flynn either.

d-grizzlyParticipanthow about throwing in that 14th pick with amare, and the grizz toss haddadi, cardinal, gay and their first pick …and i think the grizz would bite… plus i think the salaries match at that point. Gay has an outstanding future ahead of him…and i think he’s turning 23 soon. if the grizzlies were to let go of Gay, which would be the best trade piece at the moment until mayo grows, they would want a lot for gay…not saying getting amare is not enough..but they need more.

QHaynes123Nah…The Suns want more picks so they would give up that 14th overall
Depends man I think if Im the suns…I want to get Evans and Flynn.

sheltwon3ParticipantThis years draft is not hype enough to get someone to trade a superstar unless it is just a salary dump.

d-grizzlyParticipantsuns – amare + 14th pick
grizz – Gay, Haddadi, cardinal, both picks in the first round and the 2nd round pick.
think the suns and grizz would do that?

d-grizzlyParticipantgrizz can’t get picks 4 or 5 by draft rules. 1,2,3,6,7,8,9. those are the spots they can ONLY end up in.

blancs50ParticipantLet’s face facts… Bosh is not staying in Toronto, and I am sure Raptor’s management knows that. The team was supposed to atleast make the playoffs, and hopefully contend if they wanted Bosh to stay. You can’t blame it on injuries, because they were very mediocre even when Bosh was playing MVP ball.
They have Bargnani, who is a soft, jump shooting big man, just like Bosh. They can’t play both of them and realistically dream of contending. I think we’ll definitely see Bosh traded before he becomes a free agent. How embarrassing would that be to lose your franchise player for nothing, unless your the Clippers lol.

Johnny_HazeltineParticipantWhy does everyone knock Bosh for being soft? He averages double-digit REBs. Bosh is like Pau Gasol. Both guys take hard hits from thicker F/Cs and keep on truckin’.
Toronto won’t trade Bosh. Their casual fans will reject that this summer…maybe next winter.
Phoenix won’t trade Amare. Their casual fans may accept it, but Steve Kerr won’t. They just made Gentry permanent, meaning they are going to make another run next year with Nash / Amare / Shaq / Richardson. If they fail, then watch them try to lure Joe Johnson and Chris Bosh in the summer of ’10. Then try to convince Chris Paul to come in the summer of ’11.

kamikazeParticipantas a Raps fan, if Bosh leaves it better be for someone equally good……if it was a for a draft pick, then there is only one choice and thats for Blake Griffin….its jus that simple….and if Sac (if they get #1) doesn’t wanna give him up for Bosh, then Bosh stays…..yes, Raps mgt is tryin to work around Bosh, but if there is a player who can be equally of value, then they’ll make the move….
Bosh is very loyal to his team…if raps make some good trades and get better players this summa, he’ll re-sign in 2010….also note that the raps did play good during the end of the season….started off the season really well too…if it wasnt for Calderon gettin injured, who knows where they would be standing in the east rankings….for sure they are a playoff team…..
now like you said there are teams like Chicago, New Orleans, Golden State, Detroit, New York, and Milwaukee who are goin after Bosh…..perhaps do a three way deal…..Blake Griffin goes to Toronto, Bosh goes to one of those teams, and one of those teams tries to give whatever to satisfy Sac

JNixonParticipantRemember, there is a salary cap and luxury taxes..and why would you trade chris bosh for amare anyway?? They play the same position and will both demand the same type of salaries, so its not like theyre trying to free up cap room. And like some1 already said, nobody in this draft where the suns are picking is worth Amare. And I doubt Chris Paul leaves NO

Lemons4LifeParticipantI think out of the teams you have the listed the one that is most interester isn’t listed on teams Bosh could be part of. The Heat I think could get Bosh by trading Beasley & James Jones with a 1st round pick in a future year.

QHaynes123Why trade for Beasley? If i was Toronto…I wouldnt take that offer…i wants better players
For Bosh…. i want 2 ok players…and a 1st rounder
