With KD out the door, or for the whole year, and Klay’s torn ACL, I think they could legit miss the playoffs next year.. West will still be stacked, especially if more free agents go west this summer.

They still have Steph, they still have Draymond, and who knows – they might still have Boogie.

Denver just got to the conference semifinals with one all star. Portland got to the conference finals with one all star. Let’s not get dramatic.

Draymond didn’t play that big a role during these finals. He was more of a distraction than anything. He has to learn to stay in the game and don’t let his emotions get away from him. Your never going to win an agrument with an official. He was one tech away from missing a game. That’s not helping your team very much.

Not to mention his horrendous decision making. Committing ill timed fouls and costly turnovers from errant passes  The guy cost the Warriors multiple possessions.

I can’t believe the love this idea is getting.

They have a former MVP on their team still in his prime, a former DPOY, and potentially Boogie. The other players on their roster aren’t scrubs.

I will bet anyone here my entire bank account they will not miss the playoffs.

it’s definitely possible.  what if KD opts in and warriors decide to bring back klay (which i thik i the honorable thing to do)?  that’s going to be like $60M for 2 guys that won’t play much or at all next season.  it would also likely mean the end to idea of cousins going back.

be a lot on the shoulders for curry and green.  i think the wear and tear of playing so many minutes is starting to show…

Its definitely possible that they could miss the playoffs. Another user spoke about Denver and Portland… well those teams have depth. A lot of it. Golden State showed how thin that bench was in the Finals. They need some solid role player signings or it’s possible they slip into a low seed or out of the playoffs completely.

that the GSW could miss the playoffs, be in the lottery, and get Klay back in 2020 for another run? I’ll take that.

It’s definitely possible but I’ll present another scenario. Let’s say Durant opts in for the final season of his deal to rehab his Achilles and klay signs his extension this summer. The timeline for Durant’s recovery would be about 8-14 months and klay would likely be about 6-12 months. That means it’s not out of the question both could potentially be back for the playoffs next season. If that happens it might be a stretch for the warriors to even get to the playoffs given how depleted their roster will be. However, if steph somehow manages to carry them to the 7-8 seed, and than they get kd and klay back for the playoffs, than they probably would likely become the favorites again. A lot of things would have to go right, but it’s not entirely out of the question.

If they can keep Cousins, add another good player by MLE, plus some depth for the bench they’ll be a playoff team. So much depends on Cousins though, if he leaves you can’t replace an all-star talent like him.

If they keep Boogie and he comes back somewhat healthy they could make a run as a 7tj or 8th seed, if not then idk how they make the playoffs unless they really get some talent off the bench.

So basically your trying to say that Toronto just beat a lottery team…They didnt beat the Warriors right? This is a dysfunctional lottery team that just swept the Trailblazers and won two games in a row against Houston without KD.

If Toronto got swept nobody would be saying a thing except "heart of a champion", "dynasty", "greatest basketball team ever". Now that they lost to Toronto they are a lottery team.

100% agreed. I’m sorry but your basketball card needs to be taken if you really think the Warriors are a lottery team now.

      This is embarassing.

You can’t tell me Iggy and Draymond will average 20 a game like they did last night. Without Klay and KD they’re probaly a 9th seed

Sorry. But if the warriors had the exact same roster and played without kd, klay and a 50% at best cousins the whole season, that team is struggling to make struggling to make the playoffs in the west.

Willing to bet each person $10 lol

Cousins had to join the Warriors just to get to the playoffs. There’s no evidence he can help lead a team to the playoffs.

If your top three is Curry, Green, and Cousins all healthy you have a very good chance at making the playoffs.
