 Klay tore his ACL.

Nugs are not far away, especially if Porter Jnr comes out firing. A restocked Lakers are dangerous and we don’t know what the Thunder, Blazers, Jazz or Rockets will do to get better. Dallas and LAC will turn heads if they sign a big free agent, and the Spurs just find ways to win 50 and fight in the playoffs. The West is wide open.

Smh. Prayers up to KD & Klay and just hoping for the best recovery imaginable. Two career altering injuries. I’m sick to my stomach smh. I know GSW has a lot of haters, but I was never one of them. I love watching them dudes play basketball! Everybody leaving them for dead. I personally hope they grind through the next year and come back strong in 2020-2021. 

Next season, things will be tough. Steph is great enough to get them to the playoffs. They still have Dray. Other than that, I’m just not sure smh. I’m interested to see what they do and just how they approach this. 

 The first thing they have to do is resign klay. I don’t think he wants to be anywhere else and if they put the max on the table on the first day of free agency I think he’ll sign. If they try to lowball him or use his injury against him it could get ugly so they can’t let that happen. He has to be priority number one. 

Durant is a tougher call. He seemed to have one foot out the door all season and is probably unlikely to commit long-term. He’s definitely going to explore the market. The warriors can still offer him the most money and maybe that means more now than it did before the injury. Probably not but who knows. Again, you put the max on the table and see what happens but it’s likely he’s not coming back.  

As far as the rest of the roster, they are going to have to get creative as there isn’t going to be a lot of cap space to work with (assuming klay resigns). If Durant opts in their will be virtually none. They are going to have a big decision to make on draymond coming up. They could try to trade him, but he’s probably worth more to the warriors than he would be any other team. Other than that, your probably looking to find undervalued guys on the market you can get for cheap (much easier said than done). Maybe cousins even comes back on another discount deal. But any way you slice it, next season is probably gonna be rough. You just kind of have to hope that you can piece together enough of a team to get to the playoffs next season, where you may get klay and possibly kd back in time to make another run.

 I keep reading that the Atlanta Hawks’ future is bright because they have a young "Big 3" modeled after Steph, Klay and Draymond (Tre Young, Kevin Huerter and John Collins). 

If that’s a "bright future," then certainly the actual Steph, the actual Draymond, and someone signed at a discount to be a poor man’s version of Klay can win 48 games and make the playoffs.
