    Congrats to the Raptors, they played 4 straight games of really high level basketball to win the ECF & for the first time in their franchise advance to the NBA Finals.

    In saying that I’ve never seen a guy so disinterested in having won a game of this magnitude as I have Kawhi Leonard. They kept trying to get him to hold the trophy, but he refused until someone behind him (obviously part of his entourage) told him to grab it, he did so getting massive MVP chants & didn’t so much as smile.
    Part of me feels he really doesn’t want to be there, but doesn’t know anything different than giving 100% effort each time he steps on the court. The other part of me (which I hope is the more accurate assessment) feels that he simply doesn’t like being in the limelight & just wants to do his job then go home.

    I sincerely hope we see Kawhi back in Toronto next season, but if not I’m going to enjoy this run they are on & hope they can upset GSW.

    Kawhi is an amazing player but definitely a strange guy.  Would it really hurt to celebrate a bit with your teammates.  I mean you just led the team to their first ever Finals.  He gave a few high fives and went to sit on the bench like he was getting subbed out lol.

     I think that is just the way he is – very low key and not show much emotion.

    In his interview just seconds after the game had finished it looked like his eyes were a little glazey.  I think he was very happy and emotional – he just did his best to hide it…

     I think he’s won the conference before and it’s meant nothing without the chip, so he’s just not as overexcited, unlike the rest of Canada. It’s that composure which may help them win finals games. They’d get swept without him.

    Hes trying not to care. He wants a championship. He doesnt want to feel nice or accomplished. Thats what you were watching. Same thing when they all told him hes the best in the league he said he just cares about team victories blah blah blah. He’s just trying to not let us gas him up. I think thats Pop’s teaching’s and he just took it to another level.

    I really dont see where he is gonna go to find a better situation. If he inks a 5 year deal next year the same team returns, the year after that there is basically an empty team salary so they can build any team he wants there. Well see what happens.

    It’s a lesson to GM’s and really any NBA organization: do what you think is right. Plain and simple.

     People crucified Masai Ujiri for trading Demar. Analyst didn’t like it. Fans didn’t like it. Hell, players didn’t like it (I’m looking at you Lowry). Now ask him how he feels about the trade that he’s going to the NBA finals.

    There’s no comparison between Kawhi and Demar as players. It was worth the risk trading for a potentially injured Kawhi because if you didn’t, you weren’t going to beat the Bucks or Sixers anyway and go full rebuild. He decided to give it one last swing and get one of the best players in the world..

    They have a punchers chance in this series. I hope Kawhi stays, because with him there Toronto is only going to get better.

    He’s gone either way. Championship or not. No one wants to be taxed twice. Kawhi will be a clipper or a laker July 1st.

     Kawhi went to Finals and won with the Spurs so making the Finals again may not mean as much as it does to the rest of the Raptors.

    Huge congratulations to them on a big achivement.

    He can make $190 million over 5 years with the Raptors compared to $141 million over 4 years elsewhere, so there is a financial incentive to stay and they will have cap space with a couple of years to get him a younger running mate.

    Kawhi seems to be his own man, so who knows what he’ll do. I hope he does stay with Toronto personally.
