festar35ParticipantThis team is a joy to watch & I hope they can walk away with the Championship, that being said they are in for a rough summer…..potentially.
They can create about $26mil in cap space by cutting George Hill, but they will have Malcolm Brogdon, Khris Middleton, Brook Lopez & Nikola Mirotic all heading into free agency. If each player gets wht they are worth you are looking at $70-80mil in salary (Brogdon – $20mil+, Middleton – $30mil, Lopez $10mil & Mirotic $12-15mil). That’s a salary of $150mil, which will cost the franchise a lot in luxury tax given it’s set at $136mil.
Do you think they spend the money? Brogdon could command more given the way he has played coming back from injury. This may seem blasphemous, but I’m probably letting Middleton walk. Atlanta have been rumored to want a 1st round pick for Taurean Prince & I would offer up that 30th pick for him. He isn’t Middleton, but he is only 25yrs old, a solid 2-way player & is only due $3.5mil meaning Bucks can keep well under that tax line & keep Lopez as well as Mirotic on the roster.

The GoatParticipantMiddleton already said he’ll take less to stay and I’m sure a few of them are of the same mindset, especially if they win a chip.
If we imagine Middleton is returning, Brogdon would be the one to keep if you need to choose between the rest. But their strength is their depth. They are bringing on Brogdon, Connaughton, Hill and Ilyasova to relieve the starters and there is no drop off in play.
Splash Mountain and Mitotic would be big losses, but they still get a draft pick and have guys like Stirling Brown who can contribute and aren’t even in the rotation.
Bledsoe has played well here but I’m surprised he got signed first. His agent did a good job pushing this because I don’t think he would’ve been first in line for a deal post playoffs.

HitsterParticipantBrook Lopez is an interesting one, he has had good paydays but took a lot less for this season. What he might be looking for next season will be interesting, also if the Bucks did win the title he might actually be tempted to look elsewhere for a bigger payday as he’d have a title to his name so wouldn’t need to chase one.
Personally I think he will likely stay in Milwaukee as he has been a regular starter and gives them a good veteran presence and is a good shooting option on the team.
Middleton will likely get a lot of interest but I could see him staying put too unless he gets a totally ridiculous offer from elsewhere. He is playing with the likely MVP who has a strong case for being the best in the league now or if not now within a year or so, the Bucks gave him a generous deal last time too and he has been with them 6 years so is probably settled in the area.

The GoatParticipantTeams that win titles are remembered well, even if you hate them in the moment.
This Warriors run is epic. The could’ve very easily won the title Cleveland nabbed, and if it wasn’t for the last few minutes of the 4th quarter of game 7 that year, we’d be looking at a team going for 5 straight.0

HitsterParticipantFive straight would have been incredible not done since the Celtics of Red and Bill Russell’s era. MJ did have his sabatical though otherwise Bulls could have probably gone to more than the two hat tricks of titles.

TRC1991ParticipantThe Tony Snell contract HAS to be moved. I wouldn’t be shocked if they had to pair a draft pick or 2 to dump him.
