     Ok so we have all seen the measurements, that’s insane. My question is, would you take a flier on this guy and if yes, what pick would you use? 

    Personally, I don’t get the hate he is getting just because he is 7’7. I think he is much more fluid and coordinated than guys of similar size from the past, he looks healthy, and has the right mentallity.

    He is terribly underdeveloped offensively, sure, but who cares? The rim stands 10 ft above the ground, and he can reach 10’2 WITHOUT jumping. 

    Muresan, Bol, Bradley couldn’t move nearly as well as Tacko.

    IMO basketball still remains a simple game. Use the giant, throw him the ball under the basket, and let him swat shots on D. Even if it is for a few minutes, as a member of your second unit.  Lol I even read some comments the other day saying he won’t make it because he won’t be able to guard guards shooting 3’s. No kidding. …

    Anyway I think a pick on him wouldn’t go to waste. I’m not saying he is nowhere near to being a complete C, but remember: We still live in the same world where Hasheem Thabeet went no2 in a draft.

     That can’t defend guards shooting 3s thing cracks me up if a guy that big can literally play free safety and shut down everything within like 10-15 feet of the basket for 10 minutes a game then hes still pretty damn valuable

    if boban can play in this league, i think tacko can as well.  

    i’d take a flier on him from pick 50 on.  for some weird reason, i think GS wouldn’t be a horrible pick.  throw him right in front of the basket and give more spacing to 3-point shooters.  then tell him to just face the basket and look for offensive boards.

       Boban is much more skilled that Fall… He passes the ball pretty well and can even hit it from the outside.

     Teams will have a look at him in workouts and someone like Philly with 4 second rounders might roll the dice on one of them with him.

    Even if he isn’t drafted he’ll have summer league and training camp opportunities to get on a roster and then D-League even.

    Even if he was only able to play limited minutes, he’d be useful for certain match ups.

    He seems a high character guy who has done well accadeically too so has other options if his basketball career didn’t work out.

    His weaknesses are too overwhelming to outweigh his strengths. In the playoffs this would be amplified and teams would immediately attack him. He would be a liability.

    However if I was a rebuilding team I would take a flier on him, try to make him look good for trade value in the future. Maybe a 2nd round pick…

       Every team in the NBA switches on pick and rolls. Last coach to play straight up was Tom Thibadeau and he got canned. Pick and roll on Fall every possesion.

      He wont be able to keep up with the pace. At best he will be a niche situational player like Marjanovic. Although Boban is insanely skilled and has great feet for his size yet he only averaged 12 minutes in 58 games this season, 9.5 minutes in 11games for the playoffs. So his projected comparison is Marjanovic a guy that despite how great ge is was a non factor in the playoffs and cant stay on the court because of how the NBA is officiated and the pace teams play at.

      And you gotta think accomadating for a 7’7 guy transportation wise, lockerroom wise, gear etc. would also be a constant issue.

     To all the guys that have thrown the Boban comparison, explaining how Fall would be a liability due to slow sidestepping, def. pick n rolls etc.

    I think he can move much better than boban. I mean it’s obvious, he runs and moves much more fluidly. That won’t keep him from being roasted by pretty much any player in the league speed-wise, but don’t tell me teams haven’t got alternatives defending the pick when their big is slow. 

    As someone said, if there’s a place in this league for Salah Mejri, Koufos, the Plumlee brothers, Gorgui Dieng etc, there def has to be one for Tacko, too.

      Fall is a little better defensive player, Bobam is a much better offensive player and a better rebounder.

      Boban can step out and make shots from the head of the key, makes free throws and is a good passer. He also has really good hands, catches the ball and is strong with it when he gets it …

      Fall barely made 1/3 of his FT attempts and is basically incapable of making anything other than a dunk, including most lay-ups.

        I agree that free-throws are a big problem. He needs to either hit 50% of his free-throws or get strong enough that he makes the shot whether it’s a foul or not.

        Whenever he reaches up high with the ball, 3 more agile players poke at the ball and he often loses it. He’s got to get a serious grip on the ball and keep it, even when it’s above his head. He’s also holding it up there for too long. Dude just needs to throw down on people. He can be aggressive using his legs, but he’s a gentle giant with his hands. 

        They need to tear down the way he moves and rebuild it on a basic level. They obviously did that at college. But now it’s time to get someone higher paid to do that with him. I think they can make him way quicker and stronger. I was amazed at what the Jazz did with Rudy Golbert in one year. He was such a slug when they drafted him. 

        I’m not sure if they can get his shot fixed. He might have a better shot at kicking it at the rim. 

        But if you’ve got the trainers and money to throw at fixing this guy up: big, big payoff. I think he could start. I don’t think he’s slow at all.

     I think he is good.  He’s a situational center but most are these days.  He is limited but a nightmare to defend if he gets positioning.  

    I also think he is still improving.  

    He’s also working on his free throws with a shooting coach. That should help.

    too logistic load to keep on a team while barley a playable player in today game, can’t see him being drafted…
