So incredible. They are a team that deserves all the praise they get. No Hood, no Nurkic, Enes Kanter had a separated shoulder and he’s fasting, and now Portland will be playing Golden State in the Western Conference Finals.

Portland vs OKC was Damian Lillard’s series where he showed he can take down a ‘juggernaut’ team (OKC is absolute garbage). Portland vs Denver was CJ McCollum’s series where he showed he can take down a juggernaut team.

This has been a fairytale for Portland and I’m so happy to see them face GSW. If Kevin Durant is injured, Portland absolutely has a legitimate shot at taking GSW down. Time will tell.

Lillard 3-17 in the biggest game of his life !!  Lucky he had McCollum

You are a known Lillard hater. Yes he did need McCollum but at the same time he had 10 rebounds, 8 assists, 3 steals and only 1 TO. Only a handful of plays had effient offensive games, it was a grinding game. Portland shot 40.9% overall, 15.4% from 3 while Denver shot 37.1% overall and 10.5% from 3.

Lillard has been inconsistent at times, I’ll give you that. Where he looks exhausted or out of place. Not living up to his superstar status for minutes on end. Nevertheless, I don’t see how anyone who is a fan of basketball can hate on him (unless one is the typical douche who is a fan of Durant, harden, Lebron, Chris Paul, Ben Simmons). My first reaction when I saw this comment was, yes, McCollum was a stud this series, utterly indispensable.

I hate Melo, I hate Dwight Howard but I personally don’t hate Lillard.  I just said he was not clutch or was not elite.

He went 3/17 in the biggest game of his life.  Now in his next crucial series he has gone

        4/12      6/16     5/18

           Clutch –

Lillard got stripped by 35yo Iguodola in Game 2, then gets blocked and another poor shot in the final seconds of a close game 4…

I agree. I also think he’s been double teamed and zeroed in on. I also think he’s played so many minutes where he has the ball that its sensible to seem him fatigured. I expect GSW to play him more like OKC did, and I expect him to play better in that series as well.

Great performance by Portland and with KD likely out for most of the series they have a bit of a chance. I’d figure that GSW might prefer playing Portland to Denver as Jokic and Millsap could have caused them frontcourt problems with DMC out.

Well done to Portland and their long serving coach Terry Stotts. Terry’s name isn’t banded about that ,uch but he and his assistants have done a great job in Portland getting them to the Conference Finals.

Man. I feel for this franchise. It’s a good feeling seei g the  thrive and be in the wcf now. With all the bad luck they experienced since early 2010’s those blazers where often injured and Roy Oden and others couldn’t get them to the wcf, and now look at them. They were swept by AD and the pelicans last year and this is how you bounce back. I love them, they don’t have the drama of the other playoff teams and they have a good front office. With the additions of kanter hood and others I think the front office did a good job of sorrounding dame and cj with good role players that can cover their defficiencies especially defense with aminu harkless turner and other defensive minded players with length. With seth curry and hood they have another dimension someone who can hit the 3pt shot when dame and cj slashing and kicking it out ti them. It’s a tough macthup since GS is deep even without KD, but I’m rooting for these guys. Love to see guys that are proffesional and handle anything with class even in defeat anot not complain and make excuses on anything

Very disappointing the Blazers are without Nurk. I’m not writing them off, but there’s a big what if, especially with KD and Boogie out.

Really well coached and their performance shows the importance of role players – guys like Aminu and Harkless just stay in their lane.

I think Denver would have been tougher opponent for Warriors in the WCF…

Portland vs. Toronto in the Finals? How unlikely would that be.

Playoffs come down to two things:

Whos main players are healthier and who had the right bracket break..

Honestly never saw them making it this far this season. I don’t think anyone did in all honesty.

But the big question is will they streak past GSW?  I personally am not sure as this is essentially the exact same team that bet Portland 4-0..But as said above healthier  core players may change it this year.

Even though they bet my team OKC I am sort of glad a wild card team like Portland is still in the mix right now. The only thing though is will their backcourt finally streak at the right time?

I think alot of people on this site were still pretty optimistic about the Trailblazers chances even after the Nurkic injury.
