    Wanted to highlight some teams that either have a large amount of cap space, high draft picks, or young assets that could be used to flip in to potentially grabbing an all-star caliber player, for example the battle over Anthony Davis or a potential trade of second tier stars like Bradley Beal and third tier stars like Kevin Love. I always look at my tiers in terms of could they be a top 1, 2, 3 option on a championship caliber team, but thats not the point of this. Here are a list of guys I can see being moved over the next few years due to their team potentially trending downward or their contracts being close to expiring:

    Anthony Davis, Bradley Beal, Blake Griffin, Kevin Love, John Wall, Mike Conley, Kyle Lowry, Jrue Holiday, LaMarcus Aldridge, DeMar Derozan, and Andre Drummond.

    There were some others I considered like both top two pairs from OKC/POR but I don’t think those teams fit this description as much as the others. So now to the question in point, what teams have the best trade packages to use that also happen to be potentially up and coming teams. Teams that could try to flip the switch like the Sixers did with a big trade or two that would fit in to their timeline or add to their current success. Heres what I came up with, please gimmie your feed back and criticism to my rankings thats the whole point.

     

    Boston- Tatum, Brown, Smart, Williams, and 3 (potentially 4) picks this year

    Lakers- Ingram, Ball, Kuzma, Hart, and later lotto pick

    Knicks- Kevin Knox, DSJ, Mitch Robinson, Trier, and potential number 1 pick

    Nuggets- MPJ, Murray, Harris, Beasley, Morris, Hernagomez, and Toerry Craig

    Nets – LeVert, Harris, Allen, Kurucs, non lotto pick

    Clippers – Harrell, SGA, Shamet, Robinson, no pick

    Chicago – Markkanen, Carter, Hutchinson, high lotto pick

    Phoenix – Bridges, Jackson, Okobo, TJ Warren, high lotto pick

    Miami – Richardson, Winslow, Bam, Derrick Jones, lotto pick

    Minny – Okogie, Tyus Jones, Saric, Covington, lotto pick

    Orlando- Jonathan Isaac, Bamba, Fultz non lotto pick

     

    Based on this list I think you’ll see the top three teams battle it out for AD and whomevers left of the those 3 plus the Nuggets will try to swing for Beal. Finding fits for the others will depending on free agency for teams like the Nets, Clippers, and Magic, while the rest will most likely wait until they start trending towards playoff terroritory like the Bulls and Suns. Miami is tough question because they are cap strapped but always seem to try to make big swings. Minny the last team in question needs to decide if a rebuild is necessary and if it can be done in time to keep KAT from exiting several years down the line.

     Potentially two lottery picks this year. Max+ cap space. Young/Collins/Hueter, although they’re unlikely to want to trade them. Good potential future picks owed to them.

       Definitely thought about factoring them in to this but they seemed a little too early in on their timeline plus the fact that like you said theyre likely to build and Young and Collins especially at this point

    Just a point of clarification, Knicks “possible number 1 pick” vs. Suns “high lotto pick.” People can disagree over the trade value of Kevin Knox, Dennis Smith Jr, Mitchell Robinson, and Allonzo Trier (in my eyes, good luck trying to get someone with that package), but we can’t really argue that the Knicks and Suns have the same lottery odds.

      Good point, I shouldve tweaked that a little more since they have the same likely hood at the number one overall pick technically now though the Suns could drop all the way to sixth at the worst, thanks man. It was tough to figure in the draft picks pre-lottery at this point honestly

     What about Indiana:

    Turner, Sabonis, Holiday, Leaf & Holiday have all shown an ability to play in the NBA at the very least. Turner is one of the best defensive gigs in the league & Sabonis is an very good offensive player as well as one of the better passing bigs in the league as well.

     I wouldn’t for ANY of those veterans the OP listed — and my team has Mike Conley who I don’t hate.  

    Definitely not trading a rising star/lotto pick for ’em.

    Ok, AD is good but he is probably that guy who ALSO needs two other superstars to win.

     Ok, say the Knicks get the third pick and it also looks like KD and Kyrie wanna sign there.  

    Then it makes sense for the Knicks to trade 3/the law firm of Mitchell Robinson and Knox to New Orleans for Anthony Davis.  Durant/AD/Kyrie would be the new new Big 3.

    The Pelicans get some good weapons in return.

    Mitchell Robinson, Knox, and Barrett sounds like a great John Grisham thriller.

    If I’m Atlanta.  I offer my two First round picks for neal. He’s exactly what that team needs. A young veteran,  and a proven scorer. Him and young could be splash brothers east

     A lot depends on which players a team might make available, someone like Tatum might be off limits if Boston wanted to make a move.

    The Hawks with two potential top 10 picks and I could see them possibly putting the lower one into play to add a quality experienced guy.

     Drummond-Atlanta a Pick(lower of Atlantas two lottery picks, A futute lottery pick + an average deal . Detroit do this if they want to hit reset.He would be an interesting fit with Hueter,Collins and Young. They could play uptempo and this wouldn’t stunt back court development

    Beal-Lakers deal except without Ball as they will need a PG… Lakers do this so they can add one more name to team and be a legit threat out West. Plus I wouldn’t mind seeing a Beal+ Ball back court.

     Kyle Lowry goes to spurs to play with derozen lol. I think he is a UFA at end of season…

    Blake griffin whatever team makes a move would either a) want to be a legit contender or b) Better relize thy will need to manage his mins from here on out.

    Wall-They will need to attach picks and alot to make someone take him due to injury

    Derozen will stay with spurs.

    A.D-Probably takes brown,Taytum and a boat load of picks at least…Plus Kyrie saying he is staying first.

    Hawks already have Huerter who is a stud and fits perfect next to Trae and neither Beal or Huerter should be guarding 3’s full time..Hawks just keep both picks. 

    Drummond will clog the paint and isn’t a good fit with Trae/Collins. Atl isn’t giving up 2 lottery picks for him.
