    After OKC first round exit who do you think will be made the scapegoat? Does Donavan get fired? Will they make a trade like Bill Simmons predicts (Steven Adams)? What could trading Adam’s get them? I think they fire Donavan, but to me that isn’t enough.

    I hope it’s truly nobody but Westbrook. Dude just shot 11-31.

    You can’t win many games shooting that poorly. And that’s been the story all season.

    He plays with no place, takes bad shots, inconsistent jumpshot, poor attitude – it’s ridiculous. I was a big Durant hater when he left OKC, but holy hell, you understand why now.

    Westbrook can’t take the heat from an OKC market.  Philly, NY, Boston would eat him up. Maybe if Phoenix get the first overall they would trade it for Westbrook. I have no idea who would want this guy on there team let alone give up assets to acquire him

      The only way PHX trades it’s pick for Westbrook is if they somehow end up picking No. 4 or lower.

      I would be shocked if they traded an opportunity to pick Zion, RJ or Morant for Westbrook.

      Westbrook is a known commodity who you have to overpay. Nobody knows what those three guys may become, and couple tha with the idea you don’t have to pay them for a while, and that is infinitely a more intriguing proposition than adding Westbrook IMO.

       Lakers maybe? They may offer a Ball, Ingram,an average deal to make it work  + a pick or two package.

      Lakers have cap for two max slots+ Lebron. 

      So Lebron,Westbrook and Insert name here maybe  A.D in F.A? or Preferably someone with reliable jumper + Vet role players and you essentially have the heatles. Lebron being Lebron and Westbrook playing a Wade like role as Wade was also a sketchy from range.. They also do this to have a marque player beside lebron in last years of prime if you would call it that. OKC does this to heat partial reset and builds around Adams,Ball,Ingram and PG leads carries them until they mature.

      But honestly I don’t see this deal happening due to loyalties and different direction from Lakers more so of a situation where a team where $ wise they could absorb his deal or be crazy enough to swing for it

     what happened to his shot though ? He used to be money from midrange, okay from the 3 and pretty good at the FT line ? He suddenly lost his ability to shoot ? Doesn’t seem to be injured. He’s 30 now though and his lifts on his jumpshot is so damn high, maybe his legs are getting tired

       As an OKC fan answer for parts of questions:

      F/T issues: The league changed time allowed for F/T Westbrooks F/T routine since Highschool(10+ years) was to go to halfway come back, take deep breath then shoot league has stopped this  so hence intial results stinking at the line as the guy is a creature of habbit an sort of OCD. As it will take time to alter this routine.

      Shooting: Knee surgery-Less lift + family commitments(twins) in offseason has probably resulted in less training to hit peak sooner so he never fully got in westbrook like shape for the season. Hence less lift on the jumper. If you look at the open runs from summer pre surgery his jumper was looking nice as he had some lift in those legs. Also see up to allstar he struggled to even really get his usual layup/dunk lift like in the past and kind of barely did near the end of season. I hope he takes a little time off (with not so much time on fashion junk) and then comes back better as I hope he learns after 3 years of tripple double average he needs to do whatever it takes to win rather than I got my tripple double look at me now ish…As 3 first round exits isn’t a good look.

      Don’t get me wrong athletic players usually start to decline around 32-35 range if they are elite like R.W and LBJ.

         I think Westbrook is on the decline and he will now start to go down hill.  It happens quite a bit when athletic, explosive players start to rack up the miles.

        He has never been a good jump shooter (30% from 3) and relied on his athleticism alot for his NBA career.

        Next season he will be 31, I predict he will play no more than 2 all-star games and may not even be a starter in the league in the 20-21 or 21-22 season.

        He has always been overrated, I think his decline will start coming quicker than most expect…

     It was an unpopular opinion at the time, but I always thought they should’ve tested the market for Westbrook before Durant left (around 2015 when his trade value would’ve been at its highest). I had a feeling at the time that Durant was sick of playing with him and would seriously consider leaving in 2016, which turned out to be exactly what happened. Hindsight is 20-20 and I understand why they didn’t considering it would have been extremely unpopular (especially with the harden trade still fresh in everyone’s minds). However, when you think about how different things could have been for this franchise if they had gotten a huge haul for Westbrook and convinced Durant to stay, it at least makes you wonder.  

    We all know Westbrook isn’t going anywhere now, and they have very little means to seriously improve the roster around him and George. Adams is a valuable player for them who does the dirty work and is happy with his role. But he is also limited and overpaid, and unlikely to bring in enough in a trade to really move the needle. Their best hope is probably that someone like Jerami grant or Terrance Ferguson really takes a major leap forward, and maybe they can strike gold with a diamond in the rough draft pick. I don’t think Donovan is safe, but I also don’t think a coaching change is necessarily going to fix anything either. Their biggest hope moving forward I think is that George stays healthy and assumes the lead offensive role, and Russ becomes content to be more of a facilitator (which seemed to be happening this year before George got hurt and the bad habits started to resurface.)

       Moving Westbrook was a heads or tails flip because if you look at it K.D,Russ + One more piece like (propose Al horford signing) and V.O(we did this trade before he left) paired with a soilid bench  could have been a legit contender..As we just came of WCF exit which we took a klay eruption to happen..

      The problem with P.G is he seems hella injury prone which is half the problem the other problem is Donovan is a bad coach-see Dennis Schroder exit interview this year OKC quoate: Billy tends to listen to player or coach to much resulting in incosistent message vs what Dennis S had with Bud(Bucks current/Hawks old coach) …

      Don’t get me wrong I do believe Westbrook is flawed but its kind of like the Kobe problem the lakers had..They stuck with him to long post injury  out of loyalty and they stunk really bad due to no one really wanting to go there because of him..

      However I agree with you assesment of youth development: Grant,Ferguson, a healthy Diallo(who did look good when Donovan gave him a chance + reasonable mins) if we could some how get Kanter back lose patterson and get a reasonable bench SF with good chemistry I see us having a bounce back if star players don’t get over played during regular season(Donovan stunk at this) and we go into the Playoffs reasonably healthy…

    Two years and $53 million are left on Steven Adams’s deal. They would get pennies on the dollar if they moved him. 

    OKC is where it is because it has been on a terrible run with draft picks, has handed out a ton of terrible contracts, took on a terrible fit in Dennis Schroder, and have too many non-threats and are too reliant on isolation scoring to try to win games in the 110s. If they aren’t going to put together a supporting cast capable of a more diverse offense, then they have to control pace (a slower one except off turnovers and long misses) and be a suffocating defensive team (which they are capable of being). The mismatch of style of play and pace of play is something that should not necessarily require a coaching change, but I suspect it is something Tim Thibodeau or Stan Van Gundy would not ignore.

       I disagree with this he was a good back up for Russell probably the best back up PG we have ever had to be fair.

      He gave our bench a different look and could even give our starters a jolt at times..

      I totally agree about Donovan being Fired though he stinks Stan would probably be the best at going deeper in his rotation and getting more out of players I might even be inclined to go after Jeff van G as he gets max  results out of  even scrubs see usa qualifys guy did it with G league level talent vs the rest of world…Thibs unfortunately is a bit short in rotations/Giving mins to young guys..But his young players turn out really really good-see Josh Okogie the guy is looking like a young Jimmy Buckets…
